February 11, 201313 yr Anyone done this off here? Is it really straight forward? Compare the meercat says I can save £240 per year by switching. Should I go for it? Anyone offer any advice? Just managed to save £500 per year by binning Bt phone and broadband for Sky. Cheers
February 11, 201313 yr Switched to Spark Energy before Christmas, savings supposed around 25%. Don't use them: they're fucking useless.
February 11, 201313 yr I switched from British gas to Scottish power, (on duel fuel ) British gas could not match them. Saving approx £500 per yr.
February 11, 201313 yr first utility for me. Service is irrelevant if you never have to ring because they don't fuck the bill up
February 11, 201313 yr Baz is your man, except the useless oaf hasn't sorted me out like I wanted this time. Pfft!
February 11, 201313 yr Talking of Gas companies... My Dad was recently quoted £3,147.40 by Grittish Bas for new boiler. The next quote below was nearly half that off a local Gas Engineer. The robbing cunts had in their price £450 for scaffolding....its a fucking bungalow, the most it would need is a mini max scaffold tower which you can get for less than £100 for the day. Waste collection and disposal £60.47! ....A boiler as well as a load of copper and lead piping would last 10 seconds in the driveway,or better still fetch a couple of quid down the scrappers. And the best of all they want £1,155.65 for installation.....Get fucked.

February 11, 201313 yr were they going to lube him up first or go in dry It was £35.60 for lube mate. Dry was part of a pensioners discount.
February 11, 201313 yr Telecoms/ plus they will beat the top lot on gas/ electric payments. I'm a ex-British Gas Salesman, you won't get cheaper. True
February 11, 201313 yr Martin Lewis released a new website last week Pretty much states you will never be fucked by gas/leccy company again Can't remember name, will be on his site

February 12, 201313 yr Dead easy to change, well worth having a look every year as many companies give you a better introductory rate. I usually use uswitch as my comparison site
February 12, 201313 yr If you are changing, be sure to do it on or just after your bill date. Last time I changed I happily thought that B/Gas would stop charging me and Scottish Power would start only to get a letter asking for £100 arrears. Fuck, I didn't even know I was in arrears but it seems they charge a set fee all year and in summer, when you're using nothing, you claw back the arrears then in winter you use it all up again. Find out the current credit/debit balance of your account.
February 12, 201313 yr I changed in September, Eon are still providing my gas even though I moved away from them. Shit. NPower has upped my leccy direct debit to £52 a month, when I use about £16. Shit.
February 12, 201313 yr Phone Eon and ask why and tell them you want reimbursement from the changeover date. Then phone NPower and tell them you live alone and don't use as much power as a family of four therefore they need to readjust your charges.
February 12, 201313 yr npower used to continually cock my bill up so I left when they eventually sorted out what they owed me, they sent a cheque for £500 as opposed to the £30 or so reimbursement it should've been nice touch i thought
February 12, 201313 yr I want another 'spurious transfer' that gave us 2 years of free gas whilst they sorted it out. Thought I'd done well 'til a mate said he hadn't had a gas bill for 11 years!
