I'm thinking put the money I save with the Gaygo to one side, then when I do have a mid-life crisis, I can buy an Audi then.

I presume you've priced up the Aygo against the Citroen and Peugeot equivalents, what with them being eggsackerly the same car and all?

  • Sort of, I measured up my mate's Citroen to check I'd fit in etc. Having owned a Citroen before, I'm going with a Toyota.

Or a Seat Mii ?

Or a Seat Mii ?

What's that the same as?

Aygo, C1 and the 107 are, literally, the same car. Only differences between them are light clusters and interior trims. You'd look like a mincer driving any of them though.

Nice try Casino :blum: Mine's like new again now. Thanks for your concern ;)

It's not really a Toyota, per se, that you'd be buying (nor would it be a Citroen if you plumped for the C1).

They are all the same cars built at the same factory (in CZ) under a joint venture.

Asian place on right hand side of St Helens Rd if you;re heading away from town next to a big car wash (and Rumworth I think). Just before Park Cakes.

I had a both sides of my car done there a while back. Perfect job and by far the cheapest of the quotes I got. I think someone else off here went on my recommendation and were also pleased.

Indeed I did and fine job he did too. However, I went back 6 months later after the wife backed into a bollard and it was boarded up and a burnt out car outside!

The VW Up or the Skoda Citigo and it's no gayer than the Aygo / C1 / 107

Aye, looks like they Seat and Skoda are just re-badged versions of the same car.

... of course VW owners/sheep/m0ngs will no doubt claim the Up is better :)

And this "beauty" is less than £6,000 brand new!

That up looks quite nice, well nicer looking than the gaygo

I think it looks like a Daewoo Matiz or some other generic cheap car, regardless of what badge is has on the front.

Carlos would look no more/less gay driving that than he would an Aygo/C1/107.

I don't think it'd look as good with a CD hanging from the mirror though

I agree.

But it would suit a tacky flower on the dash.

Edit: Anyway, despite your repeated attempts to wind me up :) , you're barking up completely the wrong tree here. Any self-respecting Asian yoof wouldn't be seen dead in a Seat, nor would they in a VW (sorry). They're all in Beemers and Audis these days.

Not me, you can't see a tongue.

you'll be able to flog an aygo for a reasonable amount later

a c1 will be worth feck. but will cost feck all tbf.

just find the best deal for the best (in terms of condition and availablity) car

Don't buy a Citroen. I know very little about cars but those lighty up front ones are like clitorises and the body work appears to be paper thin

or better a 911 ,if your going to have a mid life crisis make it worth while

remembering insurance will prob cost more than the car

You may have missed the part where I said the Citroen C1 is exactly the same car as the Toyota Aygo.

It's not similar, it's EXACTLY the same car. Made in the same place, by the same people using the same parts. If you sat in any of them and covered the badge on the steering wheel you'd not know which of the three you were in.

Just nipped out and, by coincidence, spotted an Up on the car park. I had a quick butcher's and they look ok, not at all dissimilar to the C1/Aygo/107 IMO.

BUT it's about perception, Citroen+Peugot = shit, Toyota = reliable.

A false perception, yes.

In this instance, anyone who chooses the Aygo over the other two, based on this perception, is a crazy fool.
