Parkrun.org.uk

Just done the Wythenshawe one. Gets you out of the house for 45 mins. 5km. Free to enter. Varying levels. Believe there's one every Saturday on Leverhulme Park.

  • I did Heaton Park this Saturday to avoid the ponds at Leverhulme. Little did I realise that I was actually first finisher!   http://www.parkrun.org.uk/heaton/results/latestresults/

  • The only connection between Parkrun results and me is both are broken down by age and sex.   The nippy NZer is probably Johns Shivas of Port Hills.

Well, did Whythenshawe this morning and if you're going to do a Parkrun round here then that's the place to do it. Lovely park, flat and fast course. Even some decent totty doing it too. What's not to like?? Got my 2nd fastest time over 5k and highest place in a Parkrun so pretty fookin' happy with that.

Well done matey. Nice day for it too. Manchester 10K for me tomorrow.

Did Pennington flash one today. I was sure i'd been told it was fast and flat. It was neither which was a bit of a pisser. The 2 lads I took with me and assured it was a guaranteed minute faster course thought so too... Maybe try Wythenshaw.

Did Pennington Flash parkrun in February for the 2nd time, I arrived late after waiting for a mate who was coming with me and ran without warming-up. My achilles tendons have been shot since. I've done the Worsley Woods Parkrun three times since but was to eager and ran before I was fully recovered and set myself back. Worsley is mostly flat but has some steepish climbs in the middle.

I hadn't ran at all since early April until the Manchester 10K yesterday and just had to plod slowly round as ankles still not quite right.

How'd you get on mate? I'm not used to sunshine let alone having to run in it.

Just done the Bolton one and fair do's to anyone that's there everyweek...

i'm goosed !

How far is it Swanlaaaa? I'm looking at knocking out some 5k runs.

Leverhulme park..

Managed about 1 mile before I ran out of steam and legs gave up.. half walked.. attempted ran the rest,

worth a go, you get a time, its non competitive and you can only build on your time...

5k.. Start with lap of track, then two laps of a loup including the big hill, then running in a starihg line towards chadwicks and back to the track

the leverhulme park run is bloody horrible. ive done it quite a few times now and still hate it. but iam hope for 10 with the days exercise done and dusted. i would recommend it for anybody. its a good run with no egos

Leverhulme is one of the toughest Parkruns, but well organised and good fun.

Anewman threatening to join in next week, Fester, me, Swanny, Mrs MG all likely to be there.

Get yourselves down there.....

Anewmans being picked up by me, so he has no excuse :)

Did the leverhulme Bolton 10K a couple of years ago, twice up the flamin hill, tis a killer 2nd time around!.

Just setting off to do the Manchester 10K, nice day for it, but i'm gonna get my arse kicked by maude and the dowter. Pulled a hamstring 8 weeks ago and was out for 5 weeks. See if I can get round under 55.

Park run time came in. .

Start the list. . Keep going down. ...and down. ..

37.37 about six from bottom.

Reckon I can get 35 next week do some training on hills. . That long hill is a killer.

Thats the way to look at it. Did my first 15 months ago in 34.5 mins. Keep at itand after about 5-6 weeks you will do one and feel great.

Was doing 10 mile runs about 2/3 years ago. .lot of cream cakes and crisps since then.

I've done Leverhulme Park Run a few times now. Try and catch it when I'm in Bolton for a visit.

It is a tough course. I'm over a minute slower than for my normal on this. 'Cruella de Hill' is the main reason.

well done swanny. it doesnt get easier on leverhulme, them hills are to brutal but your times will slowly come down if you persevere.

Just off for Parkrun number about 85. What happened to wways turnout?

Bolton and that hill don't get any easier!

Wife's going out at 10 so on babysitting duty..

was looking forward to todays as well as i've been lazy of late and need to run off some stress/weight gain/comfort eating

Not been doing much running or cycling since I had an accident at work in January. Can't cycle yet but I've started running again. Did Keswick Parkrun a fortnight ago and got my ass handed to me by the Mrs :0/

Will be doing the Bolton one in a fortnight as she wants to do her 100th (!!!) parkrun there. There'll probably be a few from our club down for it.

Not missed that Bolton hill the last few weeks, hard work in the wind today?

Did a nice trail one near Villa's training ground today, gonna do the new one at Haigh in aa few weeks hopefully

There's a newish one in Blackburrrn. Not done it myself but apparently the course is faster than Bolton.

I'd guess Bolton would be one of the slower ones in the country! I'm comfortably over a minute faster on most other parkrun I've done. Still enjoy Bolton though.

Don't think Wigan is a quick one either though

Give us a shout when you're up for Haigh and I'll come and give it a go.

Tough this morning, ice patches and running on sodden grass took their toll. 12 PB's must be a record low, amazed there were any
