Parkrun.org.uk

Just done the Wythenshawe one. Gets you out of the house for 45 mins. 5km. Free to enter. Varying levels. Believe there's one every Saturday on Leverhulme Park.

  • I did Heaton Park this Saturday to avoid the ponds at Leverhulme. Little did I realise that I was actually first finisher!   http://www.parkrun.org.uk/heaton/results/latestresults/

  • The only connection between Parkrun results and me is both are broken down by age and sex.   The nippy NZer is probably Johns Shivas of Port Hills.

I am definitely going to increase my tourism in 2020. Really good way to start a Saturday.

Good man. Wythenshaw and (especially) Worsley Woods for two fast local-ish ones. Got my PB at Worsley Woods a couple of years ago. I mostly do the one local to our caravan in the Lakes these days. Its a nice, small local event but it's got so many twists and turns that it's slow as fuck.

Do you take your hound with you?

Thought about going down with mine, but looking at photos from Leverhulme, that might be a huge mistake. :)

Plenty do take their hounds with them.  Shouldn't be a problem.  There is one clown who regularly runs with his though and forgets about the 'keep them on a short lead' instruction.  He's nearly had a few over.  He's definitely the exception though

Anyone had a Parkrun milestone T shirt recently? Was the size as expected?

Want to get it right as delivered from UK to this neck of the woods

Tmgj - nah, my Mrs used to run with one of ours but he’s such a pain in the arse (too excited, barking and getting wound up) at the start she eventually sacked it off. Plus he’d set off like a bloody greyhound and then blow up after about ten minutes. Useless!

Done parkrun once

Cant be arsed getting up early on a Saturday morning

Plus when I did it the super elite were more than happy to barge people out of the way so they could a strava pb
