Million? got to be total entries and not individual surely?  how many individuals took part?

 

Don't know how many took part during the year, but there are over 750,000 who have updated their details.

The weekly turnout is (obviously) in excess of 60,000.

I was timekeeping at Cannon Hill parkrun in Birmingham today. We had 745 runners. It's incredible how parkrun has become pretty big really, the guy who started it must have done a fair bit for many people in this country.

I did timekeeping a couple of weeks back at Bolton. Good fun and an eye opener seeing what goes on behind the scenes whiles we are out on the course.

Not doing it again. I am quite quick and have posted some decent times but there is a 10 year old girl in the BEN tonight who finished it a minute faster than I ever have.

I congratulated myself on going sub-23 mins for the first time a few weeks back.

There's a kid posted a 13.44 time at Crosby today. 15-17 age group. Think Farah holds British record at 5k around 12.53ish. Can't see it being right.

Get him running that hill at Leverhulme. ....

It's an out and back course (tarmac, grass and sand!).

Last week he ran the course for the first time finishing third in a leading group of four or five in 19:58.

This week he was alone. My view is that he inadvertantly ran the junior 3k because a marshall told him to turn around thinking he was in that event. 

He was third in the Merseyside u17 c-c championship this season, and was ninth in a league race recently behind a Horwich RMI runner.

Would make sense, I don't know the course, wouldn't mind trying that one.

On 9 January he was third in the Merseyside u17 C-C Championship.

The pair who finished over a minute ahead of him were yesterday 4th and 8th in the Northern u17 Championship at Witton Park, Blackburn (where I might have been but for the home cup match).

On 16th January he was ninth in a Mid-Lancs League u17. The first six in that race all ran at Witton yesterday, finishing 13th, 14th, 22nd, 32nd, 46th and 9th, respectively.

Looking at doing Bolton Park Run in the new year. is there any decent cafes round and about folk would suggest. Also how often is it cancelled due to weather?

It's only a couple of miles out of town. Get down to A Taste of Greece afterwards, they do a cracking full English.

Parkrun is great, I don’t do it myself anymore - prefer to train alone really, but I did jr Parkrun with the little ones and my nephew last time we were in Bolton at Queen’s Park - fair old hill on that. Did a quick 6k after it whilst the kids had breakfast, decent little circuit.

Did some work in Queens park fucking knackered me out going up and down that fucking hill all day but I had calves of steel after that job.

Yeah I'm pretty lucky that I live in a valley so despite being down south all my local runs have decent hills in at some point. Certainly helps when doing flatter, faster runs.

The local park runs at Bromley or Beckenham though are flat as a witches' tit which is another reason I'm not that keen on them.

Hangover dependant I am off to Stretford parkrun.

Good man. Wythenshaw and (especially) Worsley Woods for two fast local-ish ones. Got my PB at Worsley Woods a couple of years ago. I mostly do the one local to our caravan in the Lakes these days. Its a nice, small local event but it's got so many twists and turns that it's slow as fuck.
