Less so these days but I used to be well into metalcore/hardcore. Broke my thumb at a Killswitch Engage gig once, had to do all my uni exams on a typewriter. Rock and roll.

into my metal...

bon jovi n all that

seriously though, Maiden, Priest, Kiss, Rammstein, :) amongst others

Seen a video on youtube on some metal concert where the crowd part in the middle and then all charge at eachother when the song starts.

Looks ace,but fuck being in the middle I'd end up windmilling.

Most things I've heard from Brazil usually have some interest (Bossa Nova, Samba etc)

brazilian music you say?

You've not lived until you've been in a 'pit' or have clambered up onstage to dive off. Windmilling is very much frowned upon though Gonzo - the spirit is one of good, friendly, violent fun.

I was into the heavier side of metal, until certain substances opened my mind and ears to the beauty of a precise, electronic beat. I like all sorts of music these days - but this was my last dabble with metal (cut from another thread):

[slayer] I've seen them three times, last time was at the Academy a couple of years back . The afternoon the day of the concert I'd been playing pool with some younger lads in my local, they'd been going on about some 'legal high' they'd been taking (Mephedrone) anyway, I was doing the usual - saying it'd be shit if it was legal etc. so they give a few keys...Wha-hey! I'll have a bit more of that lads, how much for a bag?

Cut to a few hours later, I'm at the gig, expecting to be stood at the back with a pint nodding my head, instead - thanks in part to the Meph and in part to the music, I'm down the front in the moshpit joining in the circling around and launching (as in giving folk a leg-up, not planting) folk and all the rest, wild-eyed and crazy. All the Metalheads (and Tom Araya) were giving me amused looks as I was dressed 'trendy'. Best time I'd had at a music event I'd had in years (or have had since).

Dovetailed nicely, as the first time I saw them (1990) I felt I was probably too young (13 years old, my mate was 12, we'd gone to Birmingham alone) to really be there - the gig the other year I felt like I was being a daft owd sod. :)

It's not for me.

Or is it just me ?

I likes the music from the darlside.

Did my shift in late 80s... Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Napalm Death... The Cult bordered on metal during their Electric phase. Also saw some shite like Cinderella and Helloween. As for proper cock rock, went to see David Lee Roth in Birmingham in '89/90 on the Skyscraper tour.

Not sure which genre you fit Faith No More in, but saw them twice at both of the International's.
