Freedmans Piece Int Ben Today

Quite a good article , comes across well and as somebody who has done his homework and research into the club and our history. Maybe i dont like what i have seen this season but we are a long long way off seeing a djorkaeff, okocha, hierro etc. We are where we are right now, a lot of us have been through a lot lot worse but we should stick together and get to the other side - in time. Bwfc a passion not a 10 year fashion.

New signings may be younger players from lower leagues who may improve

Loan market is not an option

Booooo - why isn't Gartside putting his hand in his pocket and signing proven internationals?

Etc.

Truthful article maybe, but not good reading.

In Doogie we trust

Link for us lazy fuckers, please?

In Doogie we trust

Dougie, yes.

Doogie, never. (he's a cunt :D)

He talks the talk and genuinely sounds a nice guy who really cares and wants to succeed.

Nice guys generally dont succeed in business, unless of course there is a ruthless side that we dont see. There possibly is.

He's anxious to keep the fans on-side obviously and is currently succeeding.

Results will always dictate the future and its the first time since 1901/2 season that BWFC haven't won in the first 7 leagues. This is an alarming statistic.

Most people would have laughed at you if you had said BWFC will be winless and have just 3 points after 7 games.

Thats exactly where we are right now.

If results dont improve and very quickly he wont be here.

And neither should he be.

If he keeps the same team but swaps Pratley for cyl im happy

I like Dougie.  He talks a good game and he talks a lot of sense.  I really want him to succeed.

Trouble is though, for all his talking, it's a results business.  I appreciate the club is on it's arse financially and that, going forward, we'll have to look at bringing in younger players and take a punt on those from lower leagues .... however, I'm more concerned about the here and now.

We've got a squad of players who should NOT be winless and bottom of the league.  Whether that's down to him, the coaches or the players, ultimatley the buck has to stop with him.

We need to start producing on the pitch not for 15-20 minute spells at a time, but for 90 minutes.

For the time being, in Dougie I trust.  Let's hope the season really gets going with a win tomorrow.  COYWM.

Only thing I disagree on is that I think DF is ruthless

We can't keep sacking managers because of results.

Obviously a year isn't long enough for a manager to mould a team and be a success long term.

Especially when he can't ship out players on big money.

Like it or lump it we're going to have to live with the results and look at the bigger picture.

Sacking manager after manager simple does you not good long term.

Dougie in for the foreseeable future for me, no matter what.

Sack some players!

Exactly where I'm at. If it takes a couple years to run contracts down and start again then so be it. I think these players aren't doing what they should and im not overally convinced that's all down to DF.

WTF is he doing giving interviews, hasn't he got a cake to bake?

Bang on Garrp

The oven's pre-heating - obviously. He has some time on his hands until it reaches the required temperature to get a decent rise.

Seriously sometimes I think some of you know nothing about football management/baking!

Thinly veiled "please, don't sack me" plea.

We need results now while we still have the parachute money. I'm on df's

side though.

I thought he was still cleaning the kitchen after the last chef's mess?

At very best he should be out shopping for fresh ingredients.

Can't believe he's heating the oven already?

His live studio audience were getting restless and they've told him to get a move on.

He's already demoted his sous chef.

He can't. He's still got a load of old mouldy stock left over that needs using up. Some of it's been festering for years. His cupboards are full of the stuff!

We can't keep sacking managers because of results.

Don't see why not. Why else would we sack a manager? Because he's got ginger hair?

Anyway, I'm all for sacking loads of managers. Let's reinvent ourselves. Turn into one of those clubs that goes through loads. But even more extreme - see if we can get into ten managers for the season. Won't make any difference, but it might be funny.

They'll probably do a humourous piece about us on Football Focus -  "Oh and Bolton have sacked _another_ manager...."

And we could make it a selling point: "Think you're a good manager? How long do you think you'd last at the Wanderers?" That'd sort the men from the boys.

So Freedman out. And whoever his replacement is out, too, immediately after appointing him.

The replacement's replacement can have until November before he slings his hook.
