September 21, 201312 yr End of last season was so promising. he does talk a good game Signings have been poor imo, not totally his fault granted but this is our worst start in a long, long, long time. cant it be allowed to go on? will we achieve anything by removing him? who else is there?
September 21, 201312 yr This with a gallon of Bells.I don't want Colin wanker to leave talksport so a no from me ha ha
September 21, 201312 yr We're top four in terms of transfer fees. In terms of net spend, we're even higher, because both QPR and Wigan have recouped more than they've spent. I wouldn't think we're far off the top six in terms of wage bill. We were top three in that category last season. We're the second highest spenders in the League, with £3m spent so far this season. Forest are top on £6m, Bournemouth are 3rd with £2.6m spent. Source = http://www.transferleague.co.uk/premiership-transfers/bolton-transfers.html
September 21, 201312 yr Maybe so, but last season only Wolves and Blackburn did and one of them is no longer in this league. So apart from QPR, who else is outspending us on wages? Reading? Wigan? Blackburn? Maybe Forest?
September 21, 201312 yr It's a naive view as many players get a signing on fee that isn't disclosed. Fuck knows with Watford for example. Wages are a pointless metric as I'm sure Dougie would get rid of many of our high earners but no other fucker wants them.
September 21, 201312 yr I think I would swap for thick mick, who's picked up more points since their appointments?
September 21, 201312 yr I think I would swap for thick mick, who's picked up more points since their appointments? McCarthy had an identical record to Freedman last season. This season he has a better record.
September 21, 201312 yr in 20 years we have minus 18 million on all transfers bought and sold, take into account a 10 year run in the premiership, sky sponsorship money, reebok sponsorship money, advertising, sale of burnden park, merchandise, money for league positions, cup runs, final appearances etc, so how the fuck are we supposed to be over 100 million in debt???

We outspent most of the league in the last window.
September 21, 201312 yr Gone on far too long. The man does not know his best team and he has idiots like Lawrence and Fleming as yes men, much as Coyle had. A few more games with him means we will be even further behind when he is eventually sacked.

You already know.
September 21, 201312 yr As an aside, when Sam left, Bolton would have been a very attractive proposition to most managers - a club in Europe , the premiership, and a decent (if aging) squad. We could have got a whole host of managers that may have taken us up a level, but we got Sammy Lee, and it's been crisis management since. The planning and strategy has been retarded
September 21, 201312 yr You brought wages into it. What about transfer fees? We outspent most of the league in the last window. We spent 3 and a half million in transfer fees. That's exactly 1 Dean Holdsworth. Whoopfdefuckingdo. What about signing on fees? Like I said before, it's a pointless argument without knowing all the expenditure figures, and that doesn't mean providing a link to a statto website. You make it sound like we've splashed the cash when patently that's not the case, indeed we are in the middle of a massive cost cutting exercise. Edited September 21, 201312 yr by Carlos
September 21, 201312 yr He has totally lost the dressing room , even Megson only got hammered once or twice and that was in the prem, we have now got good hidings 3 on the trot away- time to go as much as it hurts me too say Dougie

September 21, 201312 yr In theory, he sounds like a good option. Young, articulate, knowledge of the league, recruiting players used to this level and up for a fight, with a nod to creating an infrastructure and bringing through the youth. That's why the majority thought he was the right man, a lesser proportion but still more than half still believe he will deliver on this. The facts are that, over a year, he's had a reasonable budget, brought in a dozen or so of his own players, inherited a squad that was in the Premier league and yet we're rooted to the bottom. And the fans have hardly been on his or the player's back. His tactics are bizarre, team selection often doesn't make sense with too many changes, and it doesn't look like he has the dressing room. I want to believe he will turn it round but rather than have blind faith, instinct tells me he's not up to it.
September 21, 201312 yr Coyle and Gartside have absolutely ruined us Gartside out and back Dougie Freedman As Gonzo says, the players aren't as good as we think, no bids suggests that Freedman in
September 21, 201312 yr Using history as a benchmark, we've always done well with gritty managers. Think Ian Greaves, Bruce Rioch and Sam Allardyce. It's what we're about; seething atmosphere, unpleasant place to play football, think Roy Hartle, Tommy Banks, even John McGinlay and Gerry Taggart. It's our culture and we need to get back to that 'it's a tough place to get a result' mentality. At the moment we're seen as former PL whipping boys who've lost their way. F*ck Freedman and his backroom staff and get someone with a bit of nous and some steel and we might just turn it around. Pulis would be ideal but he wants to stay down south. We need someone with Prem experience before it's too late and we start slipping down the leagues and end up doing a Pompey, Wolves and Cov et al...

September 21, 201312 yr Just watching match of the day and the second I saw big sam I knew my answer. Get rid of Dougie. Big sam is a proper manager this lad is learning his trade and not very successfully so would prefere he didn't relegate my club. Bwfc are not lower league club that managers like dougie get given to eventually move on to better things.
End of last season was so promising.

Signings have been poor imo, not totally his fault granted
but this is our worst start in a long, long, long time.
cant it be allowed to go on?
will we achieve anything by removing him?
