Stay Or Go?

End of last season was so promising.

he does talk a good game

Signings have been poor imo, not totally his fault granted

but this is our worst start in a long, long, long time.

cant it be allowed to go on?

will we achieve anything by removing him?

who else is there?

Every thread proclaims our squad on paper. Ask fans of other clubs, they won't rate it.

We couldn't have made it clearer pre deadline day that we wanted to ship folk out, how come no one wanted any of them?

Just watching match of the day and the second I saw big sam I knew my answer. Get rid of Dougie. Big sam is a proper manager this lad is learning his trade and not very successfully so would prefere he didn't relegate my club. Bwfc are not lower league club that managers like dougie get given to eventually move on to better things.

Except that is exactly what Sam Allardyce did do?

I guess when it works it works. At the moment it isn't which is why he has to go.

Where have you got this information from?

He doesn't need to obtain the information its very plain for everyone to see each and every week. Wake up and smell the coffee and lets stop this wanderers ways love in everyone should be entitled to an opinion!!

There's little / no point sacking the chairman.

And sacking Dougie Freedman would be absolutely pointless as the next manager will face the same problems and we'll be going round in circles

Freedman is the man

please please tell me why he's the man? I really want to be convinced and scouring my conscience about DF I see nothing in him at all in fact he looks and acts like he's not a clue and I'm worried LL is suffering from Dementia as I had previously rated him highly.

We might have to go down again, you know.

The club is top heavy with high earners not pulling their weight.

We can't sell them, nobody wants them.

We can't loan them out, nobody is willing to pay their wages plus nobody wants them.

We can't sack them, like some folk have suggested. Unless they're convicted of a crime, bring the club into disrepute or commit an act of gross misconduct, you can't sack them.

If you release them, you have to pay them off, so you might as well try and drum something into them.

Like them or loathe them, we are keeping Gartside & the current board, Freedman & his staff & players.

So we might as well accept it and get behind them.

The problem is that wait is all we can do.

We'll be back, mate.

We'll be back in 10 years or so mate.

Freedman showed from Feb to May that he is capable of getting the best out of this team if he is backed.

We know where the problems lie, Freedman knows where the problems lie or else he wouldn't have signed Dawson. It's a shame he can't do anything about it as the 4 current centre halfs, Mills Dawson Knight and Ream, aren't good enough and aren't wanted by other clubs, especially with the wages they are on. If we can't move on one, we can't get one in.

We had 4 great months last season with Freedman. We've now had a bad start and after 7 games people want him out. Complete and utter bollocks that

Coyle and Gartside have ruined us with the players signed and the contracts sanctioned. It's going to take years to sort this mess out

If we're stuck in this league for 2,3,4 years, so be it. The club is in a mess, and it isn't Dougie Freedmans fault. Simple.

If Dougie Freedman gets sacked, which I'm scared will happen if we fail to win next week against Yeovil, the new manager in will be facing the same problems Freedman has and we'll be going round in circles.

At the end of the day though, no matter how much and how well the players are coached, it all boils down to how much the players want it

Does N'Gog want it? Eagles? Chung? Knight? Bogdan? Mills? Wheater?

I don't think they do you know. The current team is a bunch of fannys and that isn't good enough. Simple.

And that isn't Dougie Freedmans fault.

I'm in the more time group, likes been said just who do you replace him with ? I'm seeing a lot of similarity to the Ian Greaves days here, we then went through loads of managers on the road to the bottom league.

He stays.

If there's trouble in the camp he chucks em in the reserves and plays youth lads.

Can't be much 'kin worse.

Big talk from Gartside at the time that the players all had relegation clauses in their contracts, that reduced their wages when we went down ?

They're obviously still on very good deals and far above what anyone else can afford in this league. Looks like we're stuck with this group of fannies for a while yet !!

The fact that not one concrete offer has come in for any of our players since we were relegated suggests our players aren't as good as we think they are.

So we know that as fact?

Fuck it lets just keep throwing money at it, million after million after million it'll be reet then

So we know that as fact?

it proves nothing other than they aren't worth what they're currently being paid.

if they were on the championship average wage, every single club in he league would take the majority of them

they aint tho, they are on good money and no one feels they are worth that money

it does nothing to prove how good or not they are

In theory, he sounds like a good option. Young, articulate, knowledge of the league, recruiting players used to this level and up for a fight, with a nod to creating an infrastructure and bringing through the youth.

That's why the majority thought he was the right man, a lesser proportion but still more than half still believe he will deliver on this.

The facts are that, over a year, he's had a reasonable budget, brought in a dozen or so of his own players, inherited a squad that was in the Premier league and yet we're rooted to the bottom. And the fans have hardly been on his or the player's back.

His tactics are bizarre, team selection often doesn't make sense with too many changes, and it doesn't look like he has the dressing room.

I want to believe he will turn it round but rather than have blind faith, instinct tells me he's not up to it.

Good post this, but would still like to see him given a little more time as simply I haven't the foggiest who is half decent to replace him.

You make it sound like we've splashed the cash when patently that's not the case, indeed we are in the middle of a massive cost cutting exercise.

That's because we have 'splashed the cash', relative to the rest of the Championship. Every club is involved in cost cutting. Burnley have spent nothing on transfer fees and they had to sell their leading scorer from last season.

It's a shame he can't do anything about it as the 4 current centre halfs, Mills Dawson Knight and Ream, aren't good enough and aren't wanted by other clubs, especially with the wages they are on. If we can't move on one, we can't get one in.

We did 'get one in'. He's currently playing at right back because Dougie got rid of Ricketts. Three of his other signings started on the bench yesterday, including a player he spent the best part of £1M on.

He was right to get rid of Ricketts. Beckford's a good player, like a number of players in the squad he seems to be lacking in confidence at the moment. Are folk writing him off 2 month into his Bolton career?

I think give him a chance. It worries me though that yesterday people suggested pullis and I thought it wasn't a bad shout, we must be in a mess.
