Dad And Lad Weekend

God help me, but I'm struggling for ideas so.....

My lad, who is 6, has been brill since we had our little girl a few weeks back.

However, I fancy doing something to reward him for his patience and remind him he's still main man by just the 2 of us going away for Saturday/Sunday and doing something a bit different.

Ideas blokes? Fishing probably a bit dull for him..

Ta.

Take him to the match, he'll never ask you to take him anywhere ever again.

Done that.

We were still in the prem, we beat Villa 3-2.

I was saving his 100% record for a dire emergency. Saturday may be it actually......

Match. I was always mad to go at that age if not pictures and arcade with a scram after?

one man tent

couple of barbies

Take him to the pub.

Plonk him down with a pack of crisps and a fruit shoot and then you can go an play snooker with your mates.

When he gets bored and restless, just threaten to knock his lights out.

Seems to be all the rage in the golden eagle.

Wherever you take him,  I hope he makes sure he checks on you regularly to make sure you're alright

I'd forgot about that. Maybe it's not such a good idea,

Sounds like the sum total of the days out my dad used to give me!

"Wait outside this pub son while I get this money off my mate"

Two hours later I made my way home from town on my own for the first time. Bald prick!

My lads a bit older but he loves it when everyone else buggers off.

Get the xbox downstairs ont big tele, random bad food for dinner, pop, and crisps etc for throughout the day, more random shit food for tea.  Films and stuff.

windemere, hire one of them little motor boats, get out to the middle show him the controls and let him drive it, nowt to crash into, no danger, to you it's going round in circles at 5mph, to him he's grown up in charge of a "speed boat" and could be doing 100 knotts in the ocean  in his head, real adventure and driving a real boat int something he'd do every day I expect and something to tell his mates.

My lad of a similar age loved it last year, just for the fact that, for a change, he wasnt just sat in the back watching dad drive , but was in charge of where we went and how fast etc.

Seen a campsite at Grizedale.

One of them pods rather than a tent, they let you have a campfire and gaze at the stars

Teach him how to use a knife and get a fire going

Anyone done that?

Couple of pints, get a brass - the usual

That is the best thing to do, or take him dogging.
