January 11, 201412 yr Wasn't aimed at you Sir Trafford I'm just being straight up and stating the plusses and negatives! I fucking love the guy. Gutted he went
January 11, 201412 yr I'm just being straight up and stating the plusses and negatives! I fucking love the guy. Gutted he went It all bears out the general point on this thread. He's a good player, suspect defensively, especially at a higher level.
August 31, 20169 yr If one deal confirms football is mad, it's this one David luiz and alonso in one defence Fantastic
August 31, 20169 yr If one deal confirms football is mad, it's this one David luiz and alonso in one defence Fantastic Can't admit he was wrong
August 31, 20169 yr Haha I've had it from Garp already I know what I saw when a 60 year old Damien duff destroyed him Let's see how he goes
August 31, 20169 yr I liked Alonso, not as a LB, though. What are Chelsea panicking playing at? Edited August 31, 20169 yr by boltondiver
August 31, 20169 yr freedman actually got him playing something like and even then he resorted to dragging the opposition down like i say, lets see how it goes at least duff has retired
September 1, 20169 yr freedman actually got him playing something like and even then he resorted to dragging the opposition down like i say, lets see how it goes at least duff has retired So your favourite is jobless after being sacked a few months ago and the lad you slated had just had a huge money transfer to one of the clubs that attempts to challenge for the world's biggest honours. And you're still right and the rest of the world is wrong? Good effort pal!
September 1, 20169 yr I occasionally watch a bit of Serie A on BT Sport and Alonso still can't defend. However, I suspect Chelsea are a lot less interested in his defensive capabilities than we were given how few teams look to attack them at Stamford Bridge, not to mention they've just spunked good money on David Luiz (again). Freedman's still a cunt though.

September 1, 20169 yr I liked Alonso, not as a LB, though. What are Chelsea panicking playing at? I expect Conte to play with three central defenders now. Alonso would play much higher up down the left while freeing up Azpilicueta to fill the same role on the right.
September 1, 20169 yr And that is why the title will now be between the two Manchester teams IMO. Alonso in the attacking role I'm ok with but Luiz is a defensive liability - he will score a couple of crackers though.

Alonso in the attacking role I'm ok with but Luiz is a defensive liability - he will score a couple of crackers though. I've a feeling that a back 3 will benefit Luiz and his occasional lack of positional play... No one can doubt he has ability on the ball, so providing him with cover close by in Terry & Cahill will allow for the odd lapse whilst giving him freedom to bring the ball out from deep
September 1, 20169 yr Think they are gearing up to play 3 at the back. Alonso as the left mid/wing back
September 1, 20169 yr I think the top PL clubs are on the road to playing with no defenders. I fancy City under Guardiola to try it first. After all he had Mascherano playing centre half at Barcelona and he's about Whitt's height ie about an inch taller than the other painter and decorator off here.
September 3, 20169 yr Daughter showed me a tweet on alonso by Kevin Davies For an ex team mate, it was extremely cuntish Maybe he's just bitter
September 3, 20169 yr Daughter showed me a tweet on alonso by Kevin Davies For an ex team mate, it was extremely cuntish Maybe he's just bitter There was fuck all cuntish about it. He said hopefully he's 1, learned to defend and 2, stay away from injury. Quite a normal summary for an injury prone defender that can't defend.
September 3, 20169 yr Daughter showed me a tweet on alonso by Kevin Davies For an ex team mate, it was extremely cuntish Maybe he's just bitter Even if you thought it, you'd not say it about an ex team mate unless you didn't like them That period of time was known for a few splits in the camp so as to speak; it'd make sense that a seasoned grafter who made the very most of his limited potential wouldn't gel with a hugely talented young lad who wasn't doing all of the right things to realise his own potential. Especially as it coincided with Davies' decline and for a fair part of when they were squad mates he wasn't fancied as a starter for the club.
