That, yesterday, & not for the first time this season, was absolute dogshit. It was freezing (admittedly not Dougie's fault), boring (that was his fault) & I was looking at the scoreboard thi

It's time to stop all the moaning and accept were here in this league for a while now.   I welcomed the appointment of Freedman, a young manager with new ideas. Things have gone wrong financially an

He'll never get this group of players to play for him. Especially after what he said last week.

So we either get rid of all the players and get some in who'll play for him or get rid of the manager and get someone who can this group of players to perform. Option two for me

and cheaper

unless we've just accepted Dougie's version of the status quo

Honestly, I think the club have written them off. Dougie's job isn't to get the best out of them, if that's the case, no matter what Jules tells you.

So the Manager's job isn't to get the best out of the players?

Or have I missed summat?

Errm ok then

Out of both cups, bottom end of the Championship, record defeats, no money, no nothing, roll on the World Cup.

Proud of history, proud of the current?

if youre saying roll on the WC because youre looking forward to the tournament in general, fair enough. if youre saying it as youre looking forward to being entertained by england im afraid youll be sorely disappointed again

His job is to meet his objectives, whatever they may be. Surely that's standard stuff in any job?

I'm not defending anyone but I honestly think the powers that be have written off the high earners.

But if he gets them playing we get a higher return for selling those "assets"

If you think that Eddie and PG don't want DF to get the most out of everyone employed by BWFC, written off or not, then I'm flabbergasted as you're a very bright fella

I thought yesterdays game was pretty shit. No ideas going forward. Sideways and backwards passing seemed to be the master plan again. It's fucking boring.

Danns was probably our man of the match imo.

And another thing ...........

When the final whistle went, the remaining 'crowd' headed for the exits double-quick. Heard hardly any booing and hardly any clapping (and that's in the West Lower). The bus was quiet a s a grave. Looks like apathy has finally set in. And that's worse for the club than bed-sheets & pitchforks.

couple of boo's from ESL/NSL

I've come to a conclusion.

Freedman is clueless.. Coyle was clueless... bring back Megson..

seriously though..

People say " we know who the bad eggs are".. I honestly don't. Dougie plays a similar team week in week out, so in his eyes they cant be that bad, and its just an excuse...

FWIW I can see Knight getting a contract renewal...

Hope to Christ one of our loan signings isn't Mason - he takes the false nine stuff far too literally.

Main feeling from yesterday is how limited we are going forward.

Oh and McNaughton played left back for Cardiff at Citeh.

Knight was no worse nor better than anyone else yesterday, did his job and that's about that.

We actually defended and contained them ok really

Thy we're shocking going forward like, but you can only face what you play against

His objective last season was promotion, declared by Gartside, and in the public domain. His objective this season was automatic promotion, again public domain. He has failed to meet these objectives

Indeed

But many are trying to constantly redefine those objectives

I understand setting new ones due to circumstance

But don't get using thoseto redefine success against those previous set

That's by the by once you accept we aren't going up and realistically no one is going to pay a transfer fee for them. Sordell for example and Ngog to a lesser extent have been written off. Buying expensive players and paying high wages is in the past. In the medium to long term, I believe we are trying to build a team from our youth system. That's his mandate. Otherwise he'd have been sacked, surely?

The manager of this club, whoever they may be, doesn't have a single objective of promotion. Anyone believing that needs to get back to flipping burgers.

So being an established premiership team was just a blip?

Freedman should be flipping burgers..

either way

I reckon his objective doesn't involve the words "avoid relegation".

So it seems Dougie's job is to tread water until the reserve team aren't too scared to actually play football for a living.

And they want my season ticket money for next season?

He keep ditching youth players

Have we got quality coming through?

Who?

Honestly, I think the club have written them off. Dougie's job isn't to get the best out of them, if that's the case, no matter what Jules tells you.

I aso wonder if the club have also written off DF

Just letting his contract run down

If that's how it works

for the first time in a long time I am seriously thinking about not renewing my season ticket for next year, I have read peoples thoughts about Freedman and I don't know if sacking him is the answer, all I know is that yesterday was 90 minutes of dross (by both teams) and I cant remember the last time I went to a game and enjoyed it, I had a season ticket in the old 4th division went home and away so I don't know why our present situation should feel so much worse but it does

Where would the club be if our fathers and grandfathers had stopped going?

Keep the faith.

But get them playing well and they're then more attractive to other clubs an will go quicker; even on a free...therefore quicker off the oh so high wagebill

when he was recruited, if DF's mandate was to get rid of the shite and build from youth, why would he take a step back from Palace where the youth from a previous regime were already coming through? Strange career step - and I don't buy it that he came here purely for the money

He came, at the time, because our squad and set up had more potential than Palace; success was deeper routed and we were better suited for it to be sustainable; not a flash in the pan - go up and get tatered every week

That had changed immeasurably since....and he must shoulder some of the blame....along with the Board, the players and the previous 2 Managers etc

His plan may be to bring through the youth now, but this is a recent exclamation from him....after the poor performances previously; not a set mandate since he started here

If I hadn't seen such riches I could live with being poor

I'll renew mine, Student discount next year so might move to the ESL from the NSL..

I'll go watching Bolton even if its on Spa Road Playing field..

nobody (despite the premiership years), becomes a Bolton Fan for glory..

I get to yell abuse at Freedman from the other side of the stadium at full time...

And it wouldn't surprise me if they let hi contract expire.. isn't he on a rolling contract ?

this.. We've only been out of the premiership 2 years..

Surely these youth (ave age 20), would have been brought through the system to try and break into a Premiership team against premiership opponents.. Just because the 1st teams gone down, it doesn't mean the standard of players in the youth set up has,
