What makes you believe another manager would make an instant impression? A few of the current crop of players would still need to be moved on, he would have no more cash than Freedman has and like Freedman, his hands would be tied firmly behind his back. As much as were all pisst off, no more than Freedman himself, this season has to be about survival else we will be in the shit. I still say that the players, coached and managed properly should be in a play-off place based on ability. I find it staggering that, to quote DF " We are where we are". January 25, 201412 yr It's blatantly obvious we need a complete change of the squad. Some are clearly not up to it. I'm willing to give Dougie time to completely change the squad and not just bring players in because that's all we can afford. Release the high earners that are out of contract and get a few that will run through a brick wall for the team. I know Dougie is part of the blame but if you haven't got the players then there is not a lot you can do.

He inherited a good squad but has not been able to see the real concerns which many fans it is bloody obvious. His team selections and formations confuse nearly everyone. Teams like Burnley and Ipswich have don't much more with much less It is going to be a big effort now just to stay up - he should have been given the boot weeks ago

I remember the moaning about Allardyce when he took over, some of his signings seemed a bit strange and did his team selections. We all know what Sam went on to do with us. I'm willing to give him more time before condemning him as a complete failure.
January 25, 201412 yr The squad is gash and needs a complete overhaul. Players are going through the motions. If you look at other teams doing better than us I haven't heard of most of the players. Dougie does shoulder a large part of the blame but if they are shat then they are shat. He built a decent team at palace from players I've never heard of. Players willing to put a shift in. Leicester have been building for years and Cardiff before them. Think we are going to have to put up with it for a while yet. Forget about the Prem that is long gone and could be for some time.
