I find it bizarre that any normal person would pick up on something so trivial, and drag it on for so long. The fact that there are probably a few hundred people that still bring it up on a regular basis is absolutely astonishing.

Criticising him for poor performances is fair enough (sort of), but because he "laughed at something" 2 years ago? That's pretty fucking mental behaviour.

Knight seemed to play well enough when we had the good run last season. He (and Mills for that matter are) what I call Type 1 centre halves who need someone quick to play alongside who can cover behind them, viz Dawson last season and Ream in spells this season

He's not really helped by the full backs. Baptiste's lack of pace (did he look so slow when we scouted him? or is he carrying an injury?) and Ream's lack of experience and I would say basic coaching in full back play (He turns his back on the winger too much for a start).

Added to which, we haven't been able to hold a decent line since Steinsson who organised it left.

When you go out unsure you make basic errors, but I don't think Knight was directly to blame for any of the seven last week.

Slating him for bad performances is fair enough, but because he "laughed at something" 2 years ago? That's quite fucking mental.

It sticks in the throat and even more so with his performance levels since if he was putting in great performances week in week out people would forgive and forget, his attitude that day is symptomatic of his performances since.

If he'd performed well and the club had since then, he'd not be getting abused for it

It's the perfect storm really and people rightly sometimes but wrongly alot of the time will associate that act and also silly blatant mistakes with not giving a shit

The fact that he was so ready to fuck off directly after we were relegated didn't help either

So as much as folk are daft to moan at him simply for that; you're just as daft to believe that's singularly the reason that they are

Some bluddy good eyes some people.

You were also seen on the tv doing it Zat.Don't deny it.

oi zat, wait til next week on wandersways, you're gonna get blamed for everything from relegation to the price of bread

aye, probably am, ryan <wry smile>

for me, he had a moment and a bit of one against boro

from then he's been far from our worst player

he needs to go though - its been a downward spiral since he arrived and he's one of the few constants

better for both sides if he goes, but questioning his effort and professionalism is a bit much

i do think he's a soft arse and not cut out to play centre back, mind

At that point Man Utd were champions. The game wasn't over & as City proved anything can happen.

I don't expect to cry like a baby but I expect him to be professional the same way most of us are professional every day. Yes he is under the spotlight more than most but he gets the financial rewards. Every job has downsides but being a professional footballer has a more fuckin plus points than most. But lets be argumentative and contrary eh?

I don't believe it's the singular reason at all. It's the fact that it's even mentioned that amazes me.

Presumably its ok for someone to come into any of our place of work and call us a cunt, shit at our jobs and stealing a living.

Of course, none of us will admit we're shit at our jobs, we're all the best.

If I sold my services to a paying punter and the job was sub standard I'd expect to be called a cunt so get the fuck off your high horse

Without a doubt, the whole world of football seems to have more plus points than most (at the "upper end of the professional game)- if you're shit at your job, you just have to sit at home and get paid. If you're sacked for whatever reason then you get paid up a decent wodge of cash.

If I go to work and don't perform for a few weeks running, I would be lucky to get 3 months pay before I'm turfed out the door

It's not made up. He did share a laugh with Shawcross on the last minute, it was seen by a lot of fans on the day.

Footballers are happy to take the praise & adulation that comes there way so they must be prepared to take the flak. I wasn't there last night but from what I've read it seems it wasn't what was said that was wrong but the way it was said. If you are going to criticise you have to do it in the correct manner. The management have said it & the players have said it there are some people there with a bad attitude so questions do need to be asked.

I am no fan of Zat Knight & I don't want to see him here next season but fair fucks for turning out and facing the music.

Agree with that - we was near the front in the corner and he was walking off laughing and joking with a stoke player (dont know who the player was) as the rest of the players were gathering to applaud the fans for their support (and in answer to a previous poster No - I,m not a 12 year old - and havent been a 12 year old for over 40 years. For his actions that day, never mind his regular cock ups - he should never have been seen at our club again

If I sold my services to a paying punter and the job was sub standard I'd expect to be called a cunt so get the fuck off your high horse

and no doubt you'd have posted on here that you nutted him into next week and told him not to call you a cunt.

If I sold my services to a paying punter and the job was sub standard I'd expect to be called a cunt so get the fuck off your high horse

I'm presuming that if somebody called you to cunt to your face for whatever reason you would then expect to knock them out?

Most of the people who call Knight a cunt wouldn't do it to his face, if they really want to do that, then there is nothing to stop them as gaining access to the players is easy enough

Anyway, we all know that you wouldn't do a sub-standard job in the first place :blum:

According to reports the guy said he felt knight was only there to pick up his wages and I agree his actions at Stoke where he laughed and joked when we were relegated and the subsequent reports he'd packed his bags and left reebok thinking he'd got a contract elsewhere then having to backtrack when he could not get another contract his subsequent 2 years are littered with shocking mistakes and abysmal performances tells he's mentally switched off for BWFC and as the bloke said just picking up a wage. I'm not one for gobbing off at players but ZK has brought this on himself and I'm glad someone has called it as it is.

I don't recall any reports about Zat being offered a contract elsewhere at the time, but didn't Coyle tell fans at a Q&A session that Knight was the first to commit his future to the club, and did so straight after the final whistle at Stoke?

Anyway, he'll be 34 at the end of the season and his contract, along with several other high earners will be up. I think its safe to say he won't be getting another deal, so lets hope that if selected he shows some fight and plays his part in us finishing the season on a high.

The season is obviously a write off. Lets just get behind the lads, stay up and take it for what it is. Here's to getting smashed in Yeovil, Leeds, Sheffield etc. until then  :drinks:

I don't believe it's the singular reason at all. It's the fact that it's even mentioned that amazes me.

We're emotive football supporters, we'll mention anything!

Zat being 34 is the best news I've heard all day.

Not at all, I'm very calm cool and collected in the work place and very diplomatic

Its matchday when I turn into a cock

That's how I recall it.

Yeah but that's from a man who still thinks he's the best Manager he's ever been, so i'd take what OC says with a pinch of salt

What about when they promise to pay invoices before Christmas and don't.......... :D

It was reo Coker who packed his bags and fucked off after the stoke game

The Reo Coker who was lauded by the same people criticizing Knight for his antics after relegation?
