Brentford away in the FA cup 3rd round in the 70's.

We got ambushed by some Chelsea in a ginnel behind the away end which was on the side of the ground. Real eye opener as our lot were mostly 17-19 years old being kick to fuck by blokes in their late 20's and early thirties.

Remember having submerge into Wolves' mob at their place the day SKD scored 2.

3 of us including my old man took a wrong turn after game and found ourselves right in the middle of em. One of em was on the phone to his spotter mate relaying numbers an position like a lieutenant. It was a case of head down and keep quiet.

They got kettled in the end and we sloped off rather relived.

Another one with brum was after that last day when Pamela Anderson ran on the pitch. We were on the train at station and I was on crutches. Their yoof all full of black lads with fila tops and bucket hats on came steaming in. Pete and them forced them back off onto platform and one 15 year old caught Pete with a corker. All while I sat there withy leg is plaster. Haha

Wolves away, Easter Monday 2003 I think, when we scored late on to win 2-1. We were sat right at front and at the end they all shouted they'd be waiting outside!! They weren't wrong as they spat at the fella in front of me in his face, as he was wiping it away he got butted!! Four of 'em cornered me and discussed whether I was the 'dickhead at the front'. Just blagged it saying that I was waiting for 'the missus and the little un, they'll be here in a minute'. Anyway somehow I managed to convince them and on my way I went, minus me dad and the others. Just kept my head down and was really worried about where my dad was........until I saw him leading the conga coming across Asda car park with the others, all wearing party hats, balloons and streamers!!!! That was the first time we booked our own coach and I think it got ruined on the way home! How ABC let us book with them again I'll never know!

Same year WBA away, sat tea time KO. Four of us went, I drove. All through the game we were abusing their lots something royal. At the end of the match, it seemed like every Bolton fan got on a coach, which were parked directly outside the turnstile - we were the only ones left and we had to walk across the bloody motorway roundabout!!! Great!

The other two lads went on ahead and were pissing about crossing the road back and forth and it was then that I clocked we were being followed. I said to Newquay white that 'if that lad crosses road again, when Si does, then we need to get ready to run/fight'. He did cross the road and suddenly it all kicked off! There were loads of them and so we gave it the legs, but as we ran down the street people had been waiting at bus shelters, hid in bushes and they all jumped out on us with bats and bottles.

Newquay was crouched down in passenger seat asking where they were.....as one of em walked past my door with bat in hand!!!

Think we kept the car doors locked until the M6 (coz we're well 'ard from Athy)

Good shout on that brum cup semi. The cops didn't help by sending the away fans right only as we came out the ground as we were parked 200 yards to the left by a timber yard. Ended up walking through an estate behind the ground where they were running riot. My recipe for success is stare straight ahead, look stony faced like you've had a shit day and keep your gob shut.

I don't understand why they were so narked off, they were already in the league cup final at the time.

Coming out at Birmingham after we had won 3-1 with 3 headers. The away end was the opposite end to where it is now. Behind that goal, was just waste land (now a housing estate). As we came out a big roar went up and they came at us with bricks, poles, planks the lot. It was dark and not a nice place to be.

Also, after Stoke when we drew 2-2 at their old ground, with 2 late goals. Got kept in for about 30 minutes. After, we walked down this terraced street and they came from everywhere - alley ways, houses the lot.

Very moody coming out after that Wolves game, never known such an eerie silence. very relieved to get back to the car unscathed.

I had parked on the industrial estate by McDonald's as you drive in, the walk down the side of the ground was worrying as you could only have come from one place.

I always like moody away games when their are groups of Bolton fans singing and giving out shit as they get on their coaches which are parked by the ground. Wind the home fans up then fuck off.

For the brum cup game parked just round corner, got split up from wiggum and his lad, I tried to explain to young un that keeping quiet was a good idea, he thought this meant singing ' going to wembley ' quietly was a good idea. To be fair we saw no bother.

i'd put a bet on at the ground for us to win and KD last goal, so wasn't going anywhere till I'd got my winnings from their bookies, had to go round the "wrong" way to their commercial office which involved going right into the middle of em

my mates were not happy bout having to hang around and just kept mouths shut and heads down, was pretty moody as we had as good as sent em down

The game when England's number 1 came on as Davison had been sent off was a mid week night iirc. That was a proper moody one
