DazBob Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 (edited) Just seen Horwich's 2s got over 450 against Tonge and then skittled them out for under 30. Ouch. Edited May 15, 2016 by DazBob Quote
DazBob Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Our firsts beat Atherton in league yesterday and in cup today. Wasn't long ago they were looking down their noses at us. Their pro also bowled an intentional wide yesterday to give us the winning run and therefore deprive our batter his 50 leaving him on 49*. Just not cricket, that. Quote

DazBob Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 If a member of my club did that I'd be embarrassed and appalled. Quote

Whizz Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 He's not a second teamed tho. Good player, what's in them pies? Quote
fester58 Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 bradshaw will sruggle this season, a couple of batters short and a very average pro. although they have had a difficult start. Quote
fester58 Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 seems a bit of a wierd on, i think we'll miss gary garner, batting at 6/7 to see the innings home, instead of some inexpierenced kids. Quote
Casino Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 he stopped playing and was just helping out. did he not think, perhaps, yknow when he got to 200 that it was just taking the piss seems little better than the bloke bowling a deliberate wide Quote
Horwich Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Your cricket views are nearly as bad as your football ones Quote

Horwich Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 We wont win it. You need more experience imo. Half of our first team still have 2 years left in under 18s You cant afford to pay £1000s for a coach aswell. Quote
MickyD Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 did he not think, perhaps, yknow when he got to 200 that it was just taking the piss seems little better than the bloke bowling a deliberate wide Absolutely this. How old or experienced were the Tonge players? Bet the opening batter is pleased with his haul. Quote
Horwich Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 We made sure to the best of our ability that we beat what was put in front of us. Did you want the opening batter to retire? Or us to declare? Quote

fester58 Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 genuinely feel sorry for tonge and dont know how they can get out of it. but every credit to them for plugging away for the last few years and not throwing the towel in Quote
DazBob Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 (edited) Where there's a will there's a way. My club should've been dead and buried years ago but we've made it through and the future is only looking stronger. Clubs need to ensure there is a path for the younger players to progress through to the first team rather than just chucking money at players. I wish Tonge the best of luck.
