May 20, 201610 yr think it will take a few years before the league and association teams become more even. having said that theres been some good results for the associaton teams over the league sides
May 20, 201610 yr Disappointed with the standard of the former Association teams so far. How many have you seen?
May 20, 201610 yr Atherton seem to have some money, but have spent it on the wrong players imo. Especially the pro.
May 20, 201610 yr How many have you seen? Honest answer is none but going from what a mate who has played against a couple and with my lot scoring an unheard of 300 plus in consecutive weekends I think it is a fair assessment.
May 24, 201610 yr Big weekend for us with our local rivals visiting the ground Fri - westhoughton T20 game Sat - Blackrod in the BCL
May 26, 201610 yr Think Tonge could do with a move into the GMCL and work from the bottom up, find their level and attract players that way. Getting tonked every week isnt good for anyone, and certainly doesnt attract players - more detrimental than anything else. As a GMCL player myself, must say that now it's all settling down its a cracking set up.

And apart from premier and div 1 there's no fucking umpires Edited May 26, 201610 yr by superjohnmcginlay
May 27, 201610 yr Who you play for? And apart from premier and div 1 there's no fucking umpires Our window cleaner plays down in Div 4 and says it's a fucking shambles. But they're looking forward to getting hammered at Heywood in the T20 on friday.
May 27, 201610 yr Author Does he play for Rochdale Catholic Club? I'll be down watching the first team tonight! We've had one umpire per game so far in the 2's doing stints st square leg every week is shit, especially when the one umpire you do have is awful. And i played one third X1 game at the start of the season at Failsworth Macedonia - Jesus Christ that's rough

Was captain for a few years, before jacking it in a few weeks ago. Likely to move next season. Says he's too good for Div 4.
June 2, 201610 yr Who you play for? And apart from premier and div 1 there's no fucking umpires Woodbank Yeah umpires is a bizarre one - you'd think with all the leagues emalgamating they would have a hatful. Been given out twice this season caught behind and no where near it both times.... bloody notrights!
June 2, 201610 yr Nisar (amateur) at Farnworth sub pro'd for Dukinfield last week. We play them in cup Sunday. Has to be suspended. Proud dad tonight, eldest lad just scored his first 50. Made it even better as he's only 11 in a couple of week and this was u13s against district and Lancs bowling.
June 3, 201610 yr In GMCL PL Not played a bad team yet, really good standard. Teams seem to be able to bowl one side of the wicket and bat through the order. The standard of umpires is much improved. I think this is helped that there is no or little assosiation between umps and players/teams. I like the idea of the GMCL cup being an FA cup style format but its not good when we are playing a team who lost to our 2nd team the week before. Also, that CricHQ app is the future. As you were
June 3, 201610 yr Been given out twice this season caught behind and no where near it both times.... bloody notrights! Part of the issue is full teams deciding it's good cricket to claim for every delivery.
June 4, 201610 yr A question:This new Bolton League, comprising all the remaining teams from the former Bolton League and Association. At the moment Bradshaw Firsts are having a shit season and the seconds are having a great season. What would happen if the season ends the way it currently stands? Bradshaw Firsts would end up in the second tier of first teams and bradshaw seconds, having won the seconds league, would also end up relegated to conform with the home/away method of playing the league games. Can this/will this happen?
