A unit per half hour goes out of your bloodstream, so depends on the strength of the beer

And that's before you consider the main issue of the safety of yourself and other road users

Calm down, I learned my lesson

Several hours. It depends on many things such as your weight, how much you have eaten, over how long 'your mate' drank the 7 pints, what nick your liver is in, what strength beer, etc, etc. In other words, tomorrow morning at the earliest I reckon.

You been on holiday? 12 hours to clear 5 pints, probably a thin line (esp for me being so light) but how many on here have done that? I know I have.

get youself home now

if you get stoped just say you had 2 pints and rubbed yourself with a BLOON

Had a shed full on the Saturday before the last game of the season V Villa a few years ago and got pulled, I even drank an half bottle of red wine a few hours before driving home. Was well over the roadside breath test when I got took to the police station and yet I passed. Learned my lesson, would never drive after a heavy sesh again.

My mate has just been done, 2 year ban and a hefty fine, Not worth it at all, 1 pint or 2 bottles of Low C and that's me done

Was bricking it when I got banned.  Thought I'd lose my business. On top of the £750 fine, had to employ driver/labourer and pay to insure him to drive the van.  Getting banned was the worst thing to happen to me

It's one unit per hour isn't it?

Many a family has lost more than business due to drink drivers.

Just a thought.

Good point Traf.  I honestly learned my lesson when I was banned

Not drink driving, possibly boy racing though by the sounds of it. Makes me so angry when I see incidents like this, what is the point at all.

They were racing, according to a paramedic friend of mine who was first on scene.

She said it was the worst she'd seen in 15yrs on the job.

Get in the car a drive home as fast as you can...on the basis the least time it takes you the least damage you can do ...HTH

there are loads of different factors, so there can't be any real rule of thumb, as everybody is different. A mates daughter recently lost her licence, she was done for drink driving, she thought she was OK as she had only had 2 halves of Stella.....sadly for her, as she pulled out of the pub car park a car ploughed into the side of her vehicle, a police car was there within a few minutes and she was breathalysed, she was over the limit. When she had the evidential test at the station, she was still just over the limit. She tried the "But you're supposed to be alright with a couple of pints" line, that didn't really help her very much

Not drinking and driving but car related. Was driving back home yesterday and as I pulled out of a service station I was reversing on full lock, felt something go and now turning the car is like moving a tanker. Its fine until about half way through a turn. Good job its one long straight road from Durham to Cambridge. Any ideas, and is it going to cost a small fortune?

As for drinking and driving, I've had one pint in the past, but generally makes me waaaaay too nervous, so its a no for me.
