August 4, 201412 yr Just could not get myself up for it at first, but started to enjoy the squash, badminton and athletics, though as per usual the BBC pay lip service to field events. Could only stand 5 mins of opening and closing ceremonies as they made me cringe. I think the games only worked because of the timing of them and blanket BBC coverage. There was nowt else happening in the sporting world. However, the Gold Coast games are scheduled for April 2018 and will be overshadowed by the closing of the football season and the lead up to the World Cup. They will hardly register in the UK.
