We fielded teams in every single sport and all of them got lottery funding to compete. Some of them had their funding increased after medal success at the Olympics.
August 3, 201412 yr 2 English girls being moto-paced home in the cycling. I'm going to blame incompetence from organisers and broadcasters who have no idea about cycling, but it's pretty disgraceful nonetheless.
August 3, 201412 yr England win gold and silver in the cycling. Lizzie Armistead blubbering as she crossed the line to win, having missed out on gold in a sprint finish at the Olympics. The Aussies lost the bronze right on the line in a photo finish with South Africa. Oh dear.
