It's probably just genuine curiosity, these questions, so I won't go into full-on Wolfie Smith ranting and raving mode... :)

Apart from the odd bad apple (just in case anyone brings up some Kurdish origins groomer/pimp/rapist or drug dealey gangster type) the Kurds are generally the good guys (and girls) - they've had the shitty end of the stick from three sovereign nations for a good while and now, finally rid of one monster, have this new monster to contend with...

Easyjet do flights to Tel-Aviv, but I reckon' any would be 'martyr' to the cause of Palestine wouldn't make it out of the arrivals hall, similarly I think it would be ill-advised of any budding jihadi, wanting to link up with Daesh, to fly into Ebril.

It does seem confusing that once you'd reached the safety of asylum you'd want to go back, but the situation is always fluctuating here, there are no set front lines, it may be (almost) safe to bob in and out of the place, but wouldn't be advisable to stay for prolonged periods. These people using the flights may still have homes, family, friends, business interests there, they may accept short term risk of re-entry for these reasons (foremost being extracting family, friends or assets). They're resourceful and entrepreneuring people, the Kurds, for example lots of these Polish shops are backed by Kurdish money - either for pure financial reasons, or the odd case of Polish women and Kurdish men getting together/wed. It's a gross generalisation, but the Kurds are grafters and fiercely patriotic - give them a settled country and they'll do well, in my opinion.

People often muse on stuff like ''Why is it all the young(ish), fit(ish) blokes who bail out?" - well, it probably doesn't need pointing out, in situations like this, it's usually the young(ish), fit(ish) blokes who get marched off to a pit and executed first - although it has to be said Daesh are proving to be less discriminating.

Anyway, back to the destination, from what I've read, some describe the city as being 'safer than the streets of (insert name of UK/European/Aussie/Canadian/American city)...' and then you read reports of Daesh operating less than twenty five miles from the place. I've got to admit I'm intrigued, but not intrigued enough to book my Easter break there and find out for myself (and possibly end up wearing an orange jumpsuit).

I immediately wondered why. They said on the radio news that it would be of great benefit to the local Kurdish community. Just how big is the Manchester Kurdish community that it needs weekly flights to Iraq?

I suppose it's a more direct route into Isis than going with holidaymakers through Turkey.

It doesnt just cater for Manchester's kurdish community. Manchester markets itself as a gateway for the entire north of England( and in some markets, the entire northern half of the uk.)

Like Manchester airport caters for other parts of the north, I did realise that not just Manchester Kurds are allowed to use it. I was merely quoting the radio which said that Manchester has a large Kurdish community. Just how big does a group of people need to be before it gets a special flight to a homeland?

When they (a group or community) exceed 3655 in total number, they start to lay on flights.

I'm joking, and that census only takes those as Kurdish speaking, not Kurdish in origin, you wonder how many, firstly answered the census and didn't, and if they spoke good English, as many Kurds do, whether they'd have identified themselves as Kurdish-speaking.

edit: I expect the number today is significantly more than the figure given in that (2011) census...

You get some folk who are flying from the Indian Sub-Continent who have never used a toilet, let alone a plane toilet and basically shit at the back of the plane on the floor

He's not wrong. I hear some terrible tales recanted by cabin crew of the horrors they've seen on flights.

Fuck knows but I thought they were living here as they were too scared to live in their own country. I'm pretty sure if I claimed asylum I'd sooner not go back to the place I was being persecuted on a regular basis

Fuck me, are we really suggesting that Kurdish Syria/Iraq etc. is currently either safe or posing little threat and/or folk are just moving over here for economic reasons?

I can see how £19 a week would be highly tempting, I mean it'd only take three months of handouts over here to pay for their flight - result. The lure of that cushy payday, that's far more of a 'pull' factor than there is 'push' factors - such as the threat of having your head lopped off and stuck on the spike of a park fence.

50k Kurds in UK, mostly in the major cities, including Manchester and Leeds.

80k in Belgium, 150k in France, 800k in Germany, (and 7k in Australia).

The three schoolgirls who have gone over, are their parents still entitled to claim child benefit for them?

Silly silly girls. If they are lucky they will marry some IS scumbag and be kept indoors to raise loads of kids. To swap the freedoms of life in the UK for that (or much worse) is insane.

How can they bullshit about the money they pay out? It's verified elsewhere...

I stand corrected on one point, it's not £19 a week anymore, it's £36.62.

they are excited of the prospect... thats fine but when they turn out the spawn of their their efforts , some on here will defend the rights of that spawn to cross our borders and say they are welcome as they serve diversity. They will state they are "just as british as you or me"  we should " celebrate this"

Of all the questions three kids travelling to a warzone raise in my head, that would be about 1638th

that's why I want to kick girls like this in the cunt. There's girls in other countries would love the freedom and choices they have in our society but these stupid bitches who have had the luxury of being educated, and it is a luxury still for done girls, choose to do this.
