can't stop watching that 2nd free kick

can tell it was planned, 3 arsenal players in the madrid wall and got out as soon as he was about to hit it, straight through the gap they left, unreal

odegaards reaction was superb

I sensed a hint of gammon last night when I had to scroll past a shite load of flat dick international results to check Championship/L1 scores 😤

First thing on news this morning. Surprised at the away section following England, full and fully segregated.

Hopefully we see some kind of violence at these games soon.

They were superb last night. I'll wager that they don't think the job is done yet however. You'd think so but with Madrid, nothing is impossible.

Wouldn't underestimate Arsenal's defence.

Before the game anyone suggesting they'd keep a clean sheet, with no Gabriel and with Partey playing RB up against Vinicius Jr, would be sectioned.

Incredible result.

5 prem teams confirmed for the CL after arsenals result last night

Time for it to be rebranded, joke it's called the champions league

The time was many years ago.

It became a joke when finishing anything other than top of your own league (or if you were defending champions) got you into it.

Is that in total or just league places?

What if Utd or Spurs win the EL? Is that a 6th place

And then what if Villa won it but didn't finish top 5?

Could we potentially have 7??

England could have as many as seven teams in the Champions League in 2025-26 if Aston Villa win the competition this year, but fail to qualify through the Premier League, and if Manchester United or Tottenham win the Europa League. Italy are second in the coefficient rankings, with Spain and Germany behind.23 hours ago

That third goal in injury time was a body blow for Villa

Yeah 2-1 would have been a good result going back to villa park

Game over now

Not sure the Arsenal v Madrid tie result matters. Tempted to have bets on both PSG and Barcelona to lift the trophy but that nagging worry some on here call 'the farmers'. Inter are a very difficult team to beat. Shades of the (in)famous 'catenaccio' even though that is clearly not their system.

The youngsters PSG and particularly Barcelona have means that they will both be serious CL contenders for years to come. Luis Enrique seems to have finally produced a 'team' for PSG rather than a collection of selfish and petulant so called 'superstars'. Barcelona? You just know they will be winning this trophy soon if not this season.

...nor Madrids attacking threat. Not looked what Arsenals odds are to qualify for the next round but would guess around ten to one on?
