Members bolty58
He wasn't too popular round these parts after Gallipoli A terrible miscalculation but, quite possibly, an event which forged the man described by Franklin D. Roosevelt in these terms (spoken to Churchills bodyguard who FDR had dragged to one side just before the PM's departure from the White House):- "Look after him as he is close to the worlds greatest man. In fact,he may well be the worlds greatest man".
bgoefc
I lean more towards Maggie's view of the fella. However its sad, but as Pat Condell points out in his latest video blog (I would add a link but the icons above are faded out) someone was arrested for quoting this speech here in the UK whilst our mate Choudrey can spout his bile at returning dead soldiers with impunity. Sad to see some WW thinking talking about Islam is non PC these days. Anyhow here's the link and its about 3' 50" in.

As we have always known, we need a sort of 'means test' for voters before they are allowed to.
Not in Crawley
No, he was no peacetime prime minister. The post war government was one of the most progressive the uk has ever had and arguably one of the most effective. I'm not critisizing Churchill here but he certainly wasn't the man to lead the post war government.

Fight your way across the Normandy beaches and the Burmese jungle and you don't get to vote.
