The Roads

Yup. There's a reason when we get a cv from someone who's got 20 years DLO experience why it ends up in the bin.

What money would you like the council to spend on resurfacing these roads?

Tarmac's not cheap.

There's a big list of the roads in bolton all with a score as to how knackered they are.

The council starts at the worst and works it's way down. After christmas and the spend has been totted up there might be some money left over to do another road.

The whole country has a massive shortfall in surfacing funding the ICE reckons it'll cost a couple of billion to sort the whole country. OK the government chucks token amounts of 'extra funding' to local authorities every so often which when split up between every council in the country will do about 500yds of a road.

There's many things the council does badly but i'd say they're as on the ball with resurfacing main roads as the funding allows

BUT YOUR ONLY OUTLAY IS THE TARMAC

Noticed a shitload of green paint markings on the road betwen Dryfield and the resi embankment going out of H-town towards Aggy.

Expect them to start patchwork quilting that 1/2 mile shortly.

He is a thoroughly decent bloke is Mr Hoyle and works very hard for Chorley. I would never normally vote for the red filth but he deserves his X come election time.

He is indeed as was his dad and I think pretty much everybody in Madlington would agree. Just a shame we haven't got someone like him.

Hold on a sec. Is he in favour of "greater Manchester" creating the road mess?

Frankly, that doesn't bother me

NB - NIMBY :)

Dunno but his constituency isn't in greater Manchester so don't think his opinion would count for owt anyway.

I've been told Grimeford Lane is reopening again aasap & only being closed when necessary during weekend works. Power to the people!

A bit of common sense, who'd of thunk it?

Contingency? Fuck knows.

Whilst they are busy patting themelves on the back, what's happening at Kearsley Roundabout? That looks like it could be worse, when the roudabout backs up onto the carriageway then gridlock ensues.

Anyone know what was happening on the way in to Howfen this morning? Normally takes my 7 minutes in a morning to reach Daisy Hill station. Took 35 minutes today.
