June 19, 201511 yr Don't get me going! BBC Look Northwest weather wench, "for those of you observing Ramadan"...... Fuck off with your ridiculous voodoo shit.
June 19, 201511 yr Now let's hang on for one minute. Nobody has forced anyone to live in this nation, just like they've not forced them into a job. I've never dragged anyone here kicking and screaming saying 'No, I don't want their money, stop pressuring me'. Bollocks, I'm fed up with wanking everybody else off but our glorious dead, i personally respect the locals whilst abroad and their values, it's about time people respected what they live here for too. Let's play nice,
June 19, 201511 yr What about British born and bred people that follow Islam? We all have 2 days off every spring because it says in some massive book that a bloke with a beard came back from the dead. Yes IMO all religion is bollocks, but you can't have a go at folk doing Ramadan and then think its ok to go and get smashed for 2 weeks over Xmas in the name of Jesus.

Did you spend Christmas and easter sober as a judge? Did you fuck. It's nowt do with religion for most folk just 'free' days off work.

It will be interesting to hear your outlook on their book, go on, tell us. Before you even start, I bet it's more complimentary than yours on ours

Easter and Christmas, like it or not,are religious celebrations. What folk choose to do on those periods is up to them. But please don't let me stand in the way of some Muslim bashing.

Far from it but don't start chucking my annual 4 day rinse under the bus to make a point for some small minded crack pots.

June 19, 201511 yr It appears people are taking advantage of their freedom to choose then they work. I missed the Great British tradition that taxi drivers must work at all times.
June 19, 201511 yr I'm pretty sure it was flat rate for most of Christmas and New Year last time round too, to paraphrase a driver they were sick of being given verbal GBH for charging more during a holiday that was meaningless to them (or expressed more, let's say, colourfully and forcefully) so they charged time and a half on Boxing Day only iirc. Anyway, now they're choosing not to work or there's delays during a time that does have meaning to them and getting grief for that... Can't say it'd affect me anyway, I had a falling out with Metro about three years ago and have stuck to my principles and not used them since - I've got pissed wet through a few times, got pissed off a few times waiting for smelly wanker wagons (buses) to turn up, got fleeced a few times using Hackney carriages, but had a few pleasant walks too... If you don't like taxis don't use 'em, it's simple enough. Edited June 19, 201511 yr by Youri McAnespie

Let's play nice, And by them Ramadaming just how are 'we' being disrespected? Because it makes it harder for 'us' to get a taxi. Fucking hell. You should've seen them em MuzzieWays at Christmas, they were going apeshit because they couldn't get a gardener on Christmas day or have their houses decorated at Easter.
June 20, 201511 yr Ramadan doesn't have any effect where I live, as there are hardly any Muslims here. If it upsets folk so much, then why don't they move away from Bolton (which obviously has a large Muslim population) and settle in a place with less/no Muslims.

It would make sense wouldn't it, but then again they wouldn't be able to whinge like big gay babies. (I thought the general consensus of Metro was that they're shite and best avoided anyhow... how times change).

There's none where I live and I rarely get taxis so couldn't give much of a shit about that. It doesn't stop Ramadan being an archaic practice which effects staff who can't carry out their jobs properly for a month due to it though. Not forgetting children too. If I had a staff member who came in work and performed shite due to his life choice of getting pissed one could discipline them but.....don't bring your religious beliefs to work.

They'll be washing their feet in the sink next! I must admit, I do find it odd when religious beliefs/practices can change or effect a persons ability to do their job properly. If the job detail doesn't suit what they want or need to do, then they shouldn't be taking the job in the first place surely.
June 20, 201511 yr Bollocks. It just needs the knuggledragging members of society to have a bit of tolerance. As already shown on here though, that's clearly too much to ask. In short, if it inconveniences you then it shouldn't be allowed. Edit: obvs if it interferes with a job where everyone's safety depends on them doing that it's a different matter. June 20, 201511 yr Knuckle dragging? Ha ha! Not sure why you're even on this thread. You don't have any of them in H-town.
From Metro
Don't forget it's Ramadan, there might be delays after 9.00pm
