Eddie has had some abuse these past few weeks, a lot of it unwarranted by idiots.

  • So a bloke who gave us £150million is asking that his contribution be remembered by naming a room after him. Not a stand or the entire stadium. A room.   He's also asking that instead of getting his

Let's hope he wasn't referring to Rodney and Delboy.

Ah ..... there's our new match day symbol; a yellow 3-wheeler, with 'Trotters ' on the side.

Well I'm hoping to be proved wrong - but it looks like our new Chairman has a history of being a shyster and Dean Holdsworth hasn't filled me full of confidence with any of his interviews so far.

Saying 'up the Trotters' says nothing more than he knows what our nickname is.

Clean slate and all that but we need to keep an eye on these lot - IMHO and all that.

We'd need to keep a close eye on any new owners.

Didn't PG & ED look a safe bet once upon a time.

Haven't they just mortgaged the mortgage-free assets Eddie has given them in a last desperate act by him to end his personal nightmare whilst he still has a roof over his head and his granddaughter still has a granddad?

Fuck me.

I bet he's just glad he can go back to Tescos finest after years of Asdas whoopsies and alternating shops between Lidl and Aldi.

No.

Apparently the bill is "all but paid".

Which to me = not paid.

"Holdsworth said that the bill had now been paid in full" was what I read

I don't know if there is a Lidl or Aldi on the Isle of Man but if Eddie wants to celebrate the loss of £170million he could take Sue to the chippy in Port Erin where they do fish and chips to die for with discounts for pensioners.

If I ever get to loose '£170 million' and still be a pound behind him, I will die a happy man.

The investors behind them have provided loans which are well into the millions which have been secured against the assets left in the club. So yes. However, in the absence of anyone pumping millions in unconditionally that was about as good as we'd get, considering Eddie was taking us towards extinction.

You haven't really understood any of this, have you? Don't worry some, otherwise intelligent people I know, can't get their heads round it either.

I expect Trevor Birch understood it all, though. No wonder he looked so sick on Monday afternoon.

They've put in secured loans. What more is there to understand?

It's basically the same as "kissing the badge" - he knows it'll get the simpletons excited

Two words.

I'm very happy to be enlightened, not being arsey, I just wanted you to explain what it is I haven't understood and why it is so bad? Plainly, rather than in riddles if possible!

Can you stop saying Eddies lost 170 million all the world knows thats bollocks.

Wiki says no.

I think the point is the club is now in debt to a group of potentially dodgy types. No one is really sure who they are and what they want/expect for sticking millions into the club, or the terms of the loans.

Have you ever seen the film Goodfellas ? The guy who owns the restaurant they all eat in ? Starts of getting bottled for asking for a bill to be paid, then he gets protection, then they take over the club, run it into ground before burning it down for insurance money. That type of scenario is what worries people.

No, it isn't. If he hadn't have given assets to SS then he wouldn't have a roof over his head.

I get that. But GudniB seemed to have some knowledge about the deal that I didnt understand. As far as I know they've put millions in as secured loans. I don't really expect much different. But was perhaps seeing if he had information I was missing beyond the obvious of not really knowing their intentions.

Today's press conference with Holdsworth has been cancelled. It's all going wrong already...

I think it was Spider who recently referred to Winston Smith (Orwell's 1984) and the HOW and the WHY.

Its not a bad place to start. HOW did the kid from Little Lever manage to accumulate £170million and WHY did he invest it in Bolton Wanderers?

I know its beyond the attention span of most but a good place to start to answer both questions would be to go to the Isle of Man Examiner website and search under 'Eddie Davies'. Eddie doesn't usually do newspaper interviews but you will find some (starting in 2002) on there that are not just interesting background but more reliable than some of the stuff put out in mainland newspapers.

Sorry to disappoint if you thought there was a short explanation. There isn't - more to follow if you are genuinely interested.

But we were talking about the sports shield takeover and how it was structured. This isn't relevant. I thought you were going to explain that.

I have said they put in secured loans. You said I didnt understand. So I was expecting you to outline what has happened and why it is terrible?

Maybe we are at cross purposes but I was referring to the circumstances that led Eddie Davies having to settle for a lousy deal with an individual with a dubious background just to fulfill the undertaking he had given on Phil Gartside's death.
