Eddie has had some abuse these past few weeks, a lot of it unwarranted by idiots.

  • So a bloke who gave us £150million is asking that his contribution be remembered by naming a room after him. Not a stand or the entire stadium. A room.   He's also asking that instead of getting his

Nixon, iles, months of debate on here and the final result on chairman and ownership was a complete secret.

Iike another poster said its been like some bizare acid trip.

To be fair to Nixon, he had an article in the sun a couple of weeks ago saying Anderson (who is now sole owner of Inner Circle I think) was Holdsworth's money man

joint with his wife I believe.

And to be fair to Iles, he'll have been restricted to what he was allowed to say anyway. He's a sports reporter for a local paper, whereas Nixon is a tabloid journalist who can print what the fuck he wants, true or not.

Thanks, it's a struggle to keep up with these things :)

Can't be arsed trawling but these words of Dean Holdsworth encouraged me:-

"I am proud and honoured to be a part of a new history. This club is steeped in history and to lose it would have been unimaginable."

Looks like he gets it.

Someone has taken all the fixtures down on the bwfc website for this season. It now only lists up to Oct 5th  v Motherwell, in the first team fixtures list.

Happy New Owners Day to one and all I had some big sanctamonious spiel regarding the fact we've not been liquidated not gone into admin and kept most of our assets and written off huge debt so maybe the outgoing board deserve some credit but genuinely after the process we've been through its a bit rich but I still thank Eddie for his financial and personal input over the years and now look to the future. The new boys look far from what we'd wish for but if their intentions are genuine we've half a chance and I wish them well COYWM

I love the fact nobody saw the inner circle thing until the final announcement!

Fair fucks to deano and his men. They've been here from the beginning, they've had the goalposts moved a gazillion times and they've even been lumbered with some fucker else's tax bill.

I really hope this happens for them and the motives of all involved are good ones. Obviously they are in it to make money, I just hope they bring some stability and maybe a semi on of success in the meantime.

What a fucking saga it's all been, but at least we still have a football club.

Comon SS, please don't fuck us over.

What these two said.

SS may not have money, but hopefully are bezzy mates with a few crackpot Arabs or Russians

Don't like the look of Ken Anderson. Is face is too shiney.

We should chuck in to send Malcolm or Mounts to the next fancy Inner Circle lunch on the 16th. They can report on who is sat around the table, if they use the correct cutlery / glass and if there are any mysterious James Bond villain types with eye patches

Nixon was giving himself a pat on the back for naming Anderson as a key player 2 weeks ago but chairman role wasn't mentioned although he did say he was David holdsworths agent so perhaps why deano can see past his previous indiscretions that's the real worrying bit for me but you'd have to say he should smell a shit deal and a ludicrous contract a mile off!

Nixon reported tamaraz as front runner 3 seconds before it was announced SS were preferred buyer! Haha

Does anyone know if the Collins family are still involved?

I agree, I also like his "Up the Trotters" comment after the deal was done, I'm hoping some of the magic dust has rubbed off the legends who were about at the time Deano was playing for us in sure he'd have spent time in the company of Nat, Roy Hartle and the like and he was also a part of a team that included Mcginlay, Gudni, all who played their hearts out for the club.

Let's hope he wasn't referring to Rodney and Delboy.

Well I'm hoping to be proved wrong - but it looks like our new Chairman has a history of being a shyster and Dean Holdsworth hasn't filled me full of confidence with any of his interviews so far.

Saying 'up the Trotters' says nothing more than he knows what our nickname is.

Clean slate and all that but we need to keep an eye on these lot - IMHO and all that.

Yea up the trotters sentiment awesome should have just gone with COYFWM for full kudos points first job Phil brown manager kevin davies number 2 rob holding captain I'm fine with 2 out of 3 of those

Have we paid the tax bill?

Have we paid the tax bill?

I heard Holdsworth on GMR last night.

They asked if the tax bill had been paid and the threat of admin was gone.

He said yes the threat of administration was gone.

Didn't mention the tax bill but I assume it's been paid.

From what I can see, we were on a one way street to potential oblivion. These blokes have saved us and for that deserve our full support until such time as things go awry.

I, for one, feel full of enthusiasm again - even if we drop another division. We have to give them every chance. They wouldn't be putting up millions without having the best of intentions.

It's basically the same as "kissing the badge" - he knows it'll get the simpletons excited

Have we paid the tax bill?

Yes

This with bells on Bolty.

After the last year, I just want them to succeed. Until they show otherwise, im in to Deano and his car key swapping "diners club".

Yes

No.

Apparently the bill is "all but paid".

Which to me = not paid.

He said it was in the process of being paid.

Paperwork etc...

Saying 'up the Trotters' says nothing more than he knows what our nickname is.

Indeed. Especially if, in his head, he's put 'fuck' at the beginning of the sentence.

Glad we've moved on but I'm interested in deeds, not words.

Our last three managers have all 'got it'.

So to speak.

From what I can see, we were on a one way street to potential oblivion. These blokes have saved us and for that deserve our full support until such time as things go awry.

Where did you get the idea they have put up millions? Where did you get the idea they have got millions they can put up?

Haven't they just mortgaged the mortgage-free assets Eddie has given them in a last desperate act by him to end his personal nightmare whilst he still has a roof over his head and his granddaughter still has a granddad?

The investors behind them have provided loans which are well into the millions which have been secured against the assets left in the club. So yes. However, in the absence of anyone pumping millions in unconditionally that was about as good as we'd get, considering Eddie was taking us towards extinction.

There was no threat of administration, it was a threat of going into liquidation - two very different things that even parts of the media failed to grasp.

Lets be clear, we came very close to going out of existance.

I have my reservations but keeping them to the back of my mind for now, looking on the bright side! :D
