Whilst climate change is clearly happening the causes of it are certainly debatable

They're not though. We're as certain as you ever realistically can be about what is driving climate change. One thing most of us are in agreement with is that it's not something made up by the Chinese to keep America unproductive.

I stand corrected :)

Which really does confirm Scotland as a tropical paradise

Indeed, and some the best beaches anywhere

Try Benbecula in the Outer Hebrides, for example

Anybody who talks about, and claims they don't like "the establishment" is generally a fucking idiot.

A third of MP's went to private school.

Even the government acknowledges that the current set up is elitist (excuse the guardian link).

The earth goes through hotter and cooler periods, these are caused by the differing distance to the sun and the earth's angle towards it. Metrologists can plot these factors against temperature, there is a direct correlation.

However the increase in temperatures in the last 150 years or so cannot be attributed to these factors.

For every claim by climate change deniers I have seen a response by scientists but you still hear the same old accusations being trotted out, much like the conversation on Creatationism.

Well get used to hearing more arguments from creationists during the Trump administration :-)

I'll leave it to you to figure out which side of the global warming 'debate' they tend to come down on.

I read the Guardian as I've got an RSS feed reader set up at work which just shows the headlines. It's on its arse, tied up in Corbynism and anti-Trump rhetoric. Them at the end of each "article" they are begging for contributions. No shit.

Reading figures are up hugely. All former printed press have to find ways of subsidising revenues lost by printed readerships declining.

The 'begging' or rather 'whilst you are here' campaign is aimed at metrocetric liberals by saying instead of getting a flat white, help us provide you with world class reporting. It is just a revenue campaign that appears to be working. In fact Trump and Brexit have it a bit of a boost so I've been told.

Also the guardian have been getting grief for being completely anti-Corybn - from Toynbee to Jenkins they have been - so might be better to read it a bit closer.

but its not ,the mar-a-lago club only sit on 20 acres, the golf course is else where

10 minutes away.

Anyway, it has to be said and I am amazed it hasn't already but his missus would get it the dirty little minx.

goggle her,  plenty of pictures with her tits out

She's a Tory stooge of the highest order. Week long coverage of Corbyn's three line whip on Brexit vote. Not a dicky bird on the Tories. Lo and behold come the vote only Ken Clarke rebels despite a majority of Tories being behind DC and GO pre referendum. No media mention of three line Tory whips though.

And 'the left' runs the media show. My arse.

Her twatism first came to my attention when she was "interviewing" David Cameron. She'd ask a question then interrupt within seconds of him starting an answer. She was ignorant and you could see DC getting increasingly annoyed with her.

Any decent journalist asks then listens rather than shooting from the hip on some personal crusade.

I don't see her as pro anyone apart from her own self image.

I'd still bum her though.

I'd still bum her though.

Me too and I bet she is filthy.

You have to pick and choose articles on The Guardian these days. Some are utter twaddle designed to provoke a reaction like the Daily Mail. Which means their fundraising can fuck off for me.

John Harris articles usually worth a read. One of the few journalists who anticipated the Brexit vote.

Oh I agree - I love the place!

I was more getting at the idea that climate has change over the known history of the earth.  With (iirc) Scotland being much warmer around 2000 years ago - which isn't that long ago really.

That's a good assessment of it it as I understand it.

link excused - not a bad article to be fair :)

Confirms what I think anyone with half a brain can see with their own two eyes.

The high % in influential positions in the media, military and law is very telling . . .

Only the Guardian would have this column though

Radio 4 influential women

They're not though.

Well I've never read any conclusive, definitive 'proof' of a cause(s) even though I agree that industrialisation combined with other factors has certainly affected climate in a away we've never see before.

Whilst I am agreeing with your point I am pointing out that until such a time as we see 'conclusive' evidence there will always be room for nay sayers.

Which is a pretty sad state of affairs

This is tremendous
