Beach and hotel was great when i went. Only ventured out do cpl of excursions, swim with dolphins. Wouldnt fancy just wandering about,

17 of us are going . Age range 3 to 50ish. Realise its not somewhere you can wander at will. But the complex looks good , weather settled around 30c. Choice of 8 restaurants, plus bars , coffee shops and beach bars. If I just chill for 14days and nights that will do me.

Plus no chance of Tomski and Whites Man discovering my identity.

My daughter did. Was in hospital there for about three weeks.

Other than that she enjoyed it immensely.

I went on Honeymoon in '94. Stayed on the North side near Puerto Plata in a town called Sosua

 

Place was basic but good enough. All inclusive but the food was vary samey and invariably cooked in peanut oil. Hotel served local bottled beers and Miller. Spirits were branded and I had my fair share of Cuba Libres - a local rum and coke.

 

Town was fine but don't expect Oxford Street. A couple of nice fish restaurants and a Subway (which I hadn't heard of but the ham salad roll after a week of oily hotel food was like Mannah)

 

Took a couple of excursions, one was the Rum Runners jeep adventure (6 hours in a jeep drinking). The other was a horse trek up into the mountains with a couple of stop off points to eat and swim.

 

Lots of Germans there too. I mean locals actually living there.

 

Rest of the time was beach and booze. Nice and relaxing.

2 years ago. With a group of not rights , but good lads from Ince.

Stag do I tagged along on.

Google " you should see the state of our Wez " Stags brother. Just about sums up that 5days of mayhem.

Hotel grub was spot on.

Room was just what you need to crash out in.

Wouldn't take Miss Embankment there though.
