Didn't Ian Stevens turn the game?

He did come off the bench, but it was ten games before he sat on it again, which doesn't sound like much of a reward for a matchwinning turn.  We're talking about Phil Neal, mind.

I remember Stevens playing well when he came on. Yet another promising youngster who turned out to be bobbins

Bit harsh. He came through in our fourth division season and scored goals for us the the third. When he left he made another 400+ league appearances at the same sort of level and got plenty of goals.

I went to Southend mid week in 93/94 - was living in London at the time. Was hardly any Bolton there - think we won 2-0.

I went there on my own too.I've forgotten the goal scorers but more memorable was John McGinlay missing a penalty.

Sneekes with the other?

McGinlay.

McGinlay.

Did Sneekes score at Southend another time?

Blake and McGinlat scored the goals when we got beat 5-2

In a 2-1 defeat the following season.

Northampton Town, stop over in Corby please

why Corby? Do you have pressing business there in August?

Did Sneekes score at Southend another time?

Dunno but he scored a bobby dazzler at Luton around the same time.

And Charlton the week after.

Shooooot!

Was that the opening game of the 96/97 season, when we only lost about 3 other games ?

Don't think it was first game.

It was fairly early in the season because on the same day Lancs won the cup at Lords ( beat Essex i think, which was a bit of consolation)

Crap results today with Blackpool, Oldham & Accrington all winning...I'd prefer not to have to play any of them.

Rather Accrington came up than Plymouth.
