July 15, 201610 yr Seem a good thing to me, as they take up less room. I can't see how they would encourage us to recycle more. Happy to be corrected.
July 15, 201610 yr Those that are willing to recycle already do. Those that can't be arsed will just fly tip more.
July 15, 201610 yr That's just fucking mental, there's scope for everyone to have four fucking bins, aside from perhaps folk with babies and nappies that's ample, yet instead of sorting stuff, two seconds of a job, nobheads will prefer to instead parcel all their shit up and sling it down a backstreet...Utter cunts.

One such cunt been doing that round here for a while. Black bags chucked into bushes at the side of the footy pitches and cycle track.
July 15, 201610 yr Dementia and having different bins doesn't work My Mum just puts stuff in whichever bin she fancies
July 15, 201610 yr Dementia and having different bins doesn't work My Mum just puts stuff in whichever bin she fancies That's a valid reason, presumably a single black bin of the large variety is the answer, barring someone else helping out. I'm on about lazy cunts like TMGJ describes...I'd have 'em picking litter every Saturday - all day, for, hmmm, six months.
July 15, 201610 yr Theres 6 of us live here and our recycle bins are full every collection day so I'm unsure as to how we can recycle more. All its going to do it make the back streets look worse than they are.
July 15, 201610 yr Just sling your grey bin rubbish in the green bin with a light dusting of leaves and grass on top. Job jobbed. And my last 'big' grey bin weighed more than the wagon that took it.

All its going to do it make the back streets look worse than they are. Aren't there exceptions? They do an audit and if you're found to be recycling to capacity and still need the space then you get to keep the larger bin... You do crush your milk bottles, cans etc. don't you? I'd fingerprint the bag and chemically castrate the culprits, and force them to sign on the sex offender's register.

July 15, 201610 yr Just out of curiosity, those who have full recycle bins, do you crush the tin cans and get the air out of plastic bottles? Are you allowed to do this??
July 15, 201610 yr Just out of curiosity, those who have full recycle bins, do you crush the tin cans and get the air out of plastic bottles? Are you allowed to do this?? Not unless I need to squeeze more in, then we just get the kids to jump up and down on it.
July 15, 201610 yr dunno the rules in bolton but bury council will happily give you more than 1 recycling bin of any type. we've got 2 blue bins. As the councils get paid per tonne of recycling the collect and charged per tonne of general rubbish to land fill, it make sense to encourage recycling. Councils seem to just go about it wrong
July 15, 201610 yr We've had them where we live for the past 6 years or so They get collected every 2 weeks Big bin for bottles and tins gets collected once a month Big bin for paper and cardboard gets collected once a month Big bin for garden/food waste gets collected once a week. Works well, you've got to recycle or your slim bin fills up in no time. Only issues are if you're on holiday and miss a week then your either looking at a month link wait for your slim bin or 2 months for one of your big ones. And you've 4 bins to store somewhere which can be a pain in the arse.
July 15, 201610 yr We're expected to recycle all paper and cardboard etc, but get given nothing to store it in. So, i use an old dog cage in the back garden and fill it each fortnight and then drag the sodden wet paper outside for some poor fucker to empty. I'm hoping they'll get pissed off with it and give me a suitable receptacle.

We've got our 'green bin' for that but i hardly ever use it as ours gets given to Greenmount bowling club to weigh in and make some money.
July 15, 201610 yr Spider agrees with you. Often imitated, never bettered etc.. I had to turn my notifications off on Facebook. Someone even posted my ramblings on the BEN website disguised as their own. Bonkers. As for slim bins, well they can just fuck off.
July 15, 201610 yr If they want to increase recycling then get in contact with the recycling companies and the government to enable more stuff to be recycled. Also look at the unnecessary levels of packaging used on products and what that packaging is- use more biodegradable materials for it. But no, let's just take the easy, "let's be seen to be doing something" route and fuck over the people who have to use the service.
