He won't let the Telegraph reporters ruin his life, he said after he was sacked by Blackpool there's no point being bitter because that doesn't affect the people who sacked you, it just harms yourself. i'd believe that if it didn't appear that he had a massive chip on his shoulder over him not getting the england job the first time and quitting bolton in a huff.
