The preservation folk have cleared the vegetation from the section where the breach occurred on two occasions and there's been talk of rebuilding it but as you say costs will never be met( unfortunately). Each time new trees etc grow back undoing the initial work.

Water taxis have now started in Manchester, and unless a business case for something like this can be made then a charity is not going to have the funds to sort it.

 

Drop the probation service a call, sounds like an ideal project for community payback.

Not sure of regulations now, but at one time they weren't allowed to work more than a certain distance from a piss-stone. Wife worked for ranger service many moons ago and they couldn't use the bad lads army for a lot of work because it was out in the sticks.

Miss Bolton massively and look forward to coming back for a long break over Christmas, the only downside being my Mam's place is on the same street as Little Whitts and you can see him fingering dogs in his garage from the front bedroom window.......

That'd narrow it down, not many public piss stones anywhere these days! They could always piss 'behind the sticks' like everyone else does.

They've built a section of the old bolton bury canal from the manc ship canal in salford. The idea was to do it all but some has been built over and I can't see there being much money in it. The bury side is alright, theyre supposed to be sorting out the locks at nob end and get them working but there'd be no point putting a barge on what's left. Other half lived in stoneclough for a bit and I went running down the canal a few times and ended up talking to the canal volunteers. Nice enough people but bloody hell they loved canals

I see him come home in the afternoon, curtains duly close, and strangely the electricity and broadband in the area starts dipping in strength for the next few hours.
