You must have arrived more or less when I left circa 1980-81 ish went back for 9 months in 1987 between wives but found it had become a drug culture. Shame as the place had some great pubs along main rd stretch over 2 miles from Radcliffe to Farnworth border and some gems further afield like the Seven Stars on the road to Darcy Lever and the Queens Hotel in Bradley Fold.

We seem to have quite the following that lives / has lived in that Warrington / St Helens area between Manc and Liverpool

Any specific reason for this do you reckon?

Good location to travel to manchester or Liverpool for work and reasonably priced property.

We seem to have quite the following that lives / has lived in that Warrington / St Helens area between Manc and Liverpool my dad decided to take me and brother to the football when I was 12 and he was ten. It werent gonna be a scouse team with him and I weren't going to man u. 'Whos at home today? Bolton, that's not far we'll go there'. Stuck. A different weekend could of been Bury I suppose.

When I worked in Manchester, when we finished for Christmas me and a mate who lived in the village would get off the tram at Radcliffe, then progressively work our way up the hill via stopes to the canary. Would meet the wives there who would cart us home! Good days.

Fucking hell! In the 70's you wouldn't have made it to the village with the number of pubs on that stretch! Good going though :hi:

I worked in SK9 from November '87 to July '01.

Living between Manc and L'pool can you suggest a better alternative to BWFC?

Bolton born and bread.  Lived/worked in Manchester for about ten years then moved to Bristol for work last couple of years or so.

Sad to see the town seems to have gone to the dogs a bit over the last decade or so - lack of tram link and Traff centre main causes I would imagine

It's a shit hole but it's my shit hole :)

Just Horwich for me, although I have previously considered moving into Manchester or York

hahahahahahaha

Have you just heard that Everton are contemplating signing Memphis Depay or that your manager thinks LFC are superb?

ha ha :)  I left LL in 2000 (B_Blondie it can be done, he he)  give or take and never lived there since bar a few stints at my Mam's, mates or brothers gaffs.   It was rife then and I would imagine only worse now.  I'd imagine the queues for the bogs being bigger than those for the bar in most pubs :)

Still, if you can't beat 'em . . .  ;)

Born in Athy 58 years ago and never left

My Dad's from Little Lever, the family used to own the garage.

Can't say I've ever been myself, which is pretty bad.
