I mentioned Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in a previous post. A 15 year old wonder kid! Well we have 17 year old Joe Moores. A great knock of 55 today. Showed up the experienced top order. Wasn’t enough though

  • On paper, the best batting line up we've had since Atherton, Crawley & Fairbrother, if not before.   On grass, absolute shite so far.

Global warming!

Vilas leaving at the end of the season. Expected but he's been a great servant to Lancashire over the past few years. His experience will be missed going forward.

What a bad season this is turning into.

Weather really messing with things. It must mess with the players' heads after a while.

I've enjoyed the 50 over stuff this season and last tbf. A lot are played on Outgrounds as you say so can tick a few off.

Lancs are producing some good young players and the MetroBank 50 over gives them 1st team cricket experience.

also just watching Manchester Originals now on TV, ive nothing against it like just could never support a team with the name Manchester in it. :)

Good on you for supporting.

I don't get the criticism of the standard- if it's your team, then you support them.

Good win against the Media Darlings CC yesterday and with Notts beating Kent with a last wicket stand of 30 odd means that we still have a opportunity to qualify if we win the next two away games starting at Lords on Sunday.

Remarkable win really.

Huge!

I thought there must have been a mistake initially.

Another super win.

Very unusual match in that Lancs managed to go ballistic last 10 overs or so, when the bowling side had been in control.

Then Middlesex kept on track, before appearing to be out of it then also having a last gasp fling. Fortunately, it wasn't enough.

Win the last group game and they're through. Won't be easy though.

Another game where the youngsters have got us over the line. Great knocks by Lavelle and Hurst in the final 20 overs of our innings and a good bowling performance by Aspinwall.

Notts away next with a win getting us through. Hoping to go on Tuesday and tick off another outground.

Can you help- why are Kent shown as being above us when we have a better run rate?

According to wiki, three teams go through, which would suggest lancs aren't guaranteed to progress with a win against Notts.

I've been on the ecb Web site and others, but full format details are sadly lacking.

In short No I can't help as with most things in cricket it's never easy is it :)

Lancs Social Media team put something out about qualification is in our own hands after todays win.

My understanding is that NNR prevails when all 8 matches have been finalised.

Kent have won 4 games and Lancs 3 is the only reason I can think they are above us for now??

Just found this. This says NNR

Updated table.

Marvellous, cheers.

Table was very confusing yesterday!

I suppose we could win and still be ousted by Kent, but it would take a ridiculous (impossible) win by them to achieve it.

Great bowling again.

Just need to follow it up with steady batting and they're through.

Fucked up against Hampshire recently in a similar game, but they should feel confident.

Great day out today at Notts. Top Bowling performance backed up by a professional run chase with a great Ton from Jennings.Onwards now to the Quarter Final in good form and hopeful of another away win.

Outground cricket is ace plenty interaction with the players today. My Lads got 7 or 8 signatures on their Shirts/Bat. Hope the ECB don't get rid of the 50 Over Comp going forward for that other franchise competition that also runs throughout August.

Commentators said it wasn't the easiest place to find!

They were in a tent too, and it was continually creaking and clanking in the background.

Very atmospheric.

In the middle of a field basically just north of Mansfield. Think it was called Welbeck Cricket Club. Great facilities although the outfield did seem a bit bobbly. it would be a nice place to play Club Cricket.

The car park was a bit grim afterwards as it was just a field with one exit and 100s of cars trying to get out. The M1 was closed locally as well so the traffic was busy.

No more Outground cricket now this year. Hopefully get the chance to tick a few more off next season

Good on you.

Quite liked popping round some of the clubs watching my lad when he was little.

Pity he never carried on.

Got family who frequent Hyde cricket club- beautiful views from the place.

Oh dear

Forgot it was today!

Bit low, just hope it's a proper bowling wicket.

Pity about the run out.
