Tonge moor green jacket Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 Remarkable. Another quality sportsman of senior age (over 40) and still going. Doubt we'll see him skriking. Quote

Poor weather hasn't helped, but performances just not good enough. Can it all be placed on coaching though? Quote
paulhanley Posted September 29, 2024 Posted September 29, 2024 They've been poor all season really. Decimated by international call ups of various sorts but even so it feels Lancs have been blooding too many youngsters all in one go in a pressure situation. No doubt they'll be back in Div 1 before long but the constrast between how we go about our business and Surrey theirs is pretty stark. Quote
maaarsh Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 Think the club needs several rather different resigns to move forward. Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 This is going to be brilliant, 10 minutes from me… will spend plenty time here. https://cricket.lancashirecricket.co.uk/news/2024-news/farington-project-july-2024-update/ Quote

That in itself is a bit controversial, but I can see some traffic problems at times. Quote

Crickets on 3-4 months and the road widening might help things when completed. Quote
BobyBrno Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Good news and nice hat. Hopefully see him again in action some time this summer. Quote
TrickyTrotter Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Early days but doesn't look like a quick return to Division 1. No sign of Jimmy yet and they can't bowl teams out and can't bat either, apart from that..... Quote

No sign of Jimmy yet and they can't bowl teams out and can't bat either, apart from that..... Batting has been good at times in fairness. Just not consistent. Weather can't be helping- loads of draws and clearly bowlers can't be getting much help from atmospheric conditions and dry pitches. Dunno what folk think, but the large disparity between points for a win and points for a draw quickly leaves a team stranded. Obviously it helps to force teams to push for a win, and should help the spectacle, but the sunny weather this time is unique. This area, the North West, has really suffered from the lack of rain- parts of the south have had some downpours, where as we haven't. Quote

BobyBrno Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Jimmy back today. For Lancs sake, win toss and bat. For my sake, hope to see The Goat bowling on a beautiful day. Hopefully Marcus Harris judgement will be better than Jennings. Factor 30 on. Anyone going down remember. Slip, slop, slap, seek, slide. 👍🏏 Quote
TrickyTrotter Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Had decent 2 days, but nothing won yet. There was a good article in The Times earlier in the week by Mike Atherton about the sorry state of affairs at OT. He stated that many were unhappy with the coach Benkenstein rather than Jennings plus the club's obsession with franchise cricket and non cricket activity to the detriment of LCC. The club has considerable debt after redeveloping the ground. Quote
