Arrived home from work to the hoist in the living room, thank you to each and every one of you who supported us.

Not quite that simple yet some stuff to sort before we can use.

Next bit of kit with the donations will be a radio aid for her cochlear implant that reduces background noise so helps massively.

You lot are amazing.

Brilliant Mike, great stuff

Long time coming, but the final bit of the funds raised went towards part funding a standing frame, which Erin got to use for first time at school today (yes, some stuff really does take an age).

Closed the page now.   You amazing people have donated £1,370 to help us as a family and Erin directly.   We are starting the process with the charity to get the hoist, after which there will be f

Agreed! :)

The crowd funding has closed and we have the first bit of kit. If you are wanting to support and it go to others like Erin then you can donate to the charity than ran the initial piece on page 1 of this thread. Lots of other great charities support us too, like Sense or Seashell Trust, where she goes to school and I am a governor!

I will likely be doing a run or bike ride for one of them in the next few months if you'd rather wait.

Cheers

I'll wait and sponsor your event mate

Good work

So proud to say that Erin today won the 'Sports Personality 2017' award for the whole school. Great videos of the hard work she puts into physio and body movement sessions shown to all school and parents. Dusty eyes all round ????

Superb.

Brilliant Mike. Very well done Erin.

Radio aid is a fantastic bit of kit, links in to Erin's cochlear implant and cuts out a lot of background noise so helps her concentrate on who is talking to her. Helping massively.

We have also used some of the money towards a pair of Piedro sandals. She has boots through the orthotics clinic but they give her some real pain through her feet which causes all sorts of issues. The sandals give her the support she needs without as many problems but can't be worn all the time due to being unable to strap her feet unto her wheelchair. £155 for a pair of sandals! Welcome to the wonderful world of special needs / disability equipment.

As always, thank you all and will keep you updated.

Wanted to share to show you the joy you have brought to Erin, who loves working hard as you can see in this photo.

Promised an update and want to thank each and every one of you who helped out, as a family we remain so grateful.

Superb stuff Mike, really made up for you all mate.

Erin looks so happy, brilliant.

Only just seen this, absolutely superb.

I've never seen a photo of Erin where she isn't smiling, she always seems happy despite her obvious life challenges she faces on a daily basis. Whilst we moan about traffic on the way to work or someone nicking a parking spot, you read about others like her and it becomes a little embarrassing to moan about everyday stuff. Mike & Mandy do amazingly with her, they really do.

I've also just read back through the thread and it's touching/heartwarming to see us band together to make things happen.

I see the cunts on Twitter who like to screenshot stuff off here to use against us, never mention this kind of stuff. We're WW and we'll do what we want, between us we've raised thousands for good causes over the years : fuck the detractors.

This place is no different to anywhere else with regard to controversy. Don't go anywhere else and bollocks to them.

Nice one Erin.
