Yet when people suggest that about Corbyn et al getting egged, it's derided as being over dramatic.

True, but in the same respect, we all know through proven statistics, which ideology are most likely to have the most suicide bombers etc hence the level of security required for certain people.

Corbyn should rightly step up his security these days.

I don't disagree with any of that.

If this is all it takes to “raise the right” then no wonder the world is fucked

Typical leap to the defence of the 'oppressed' eh?

The world is fucked - you are right. Shall we start to list them?

9/11

7/7

Marseille

Madrid

Manchester

How many hundreds of these would you like me to list? This is why the world is fucked. The fucking #illridewithyou brigade hiding from the truth.

No doubt you will counter with the recent atrocity in NZ. One of only a few regrettable reactions by nutjobs to an absolute tidal wave of Islamic terrorism over decades.

Begum getting legal aid. Wowsers.

Much as dislike her - if she's entitled to it by law - then she should get it.

Change the law.

Bollocks. British taxpayers paying for legal assistance for someone who hates Britain. All this bullshit about just being just a breeding mare exposed. A Sharia enforcer armed with a rifle is being reported down here.

Fuck entitlement. Guantanamo - the nearest to rotting in hell I can think of on the planet.

So ignore the rule of law then?

You can't just change the rules because you don't like one of the beneficiaries. I argued the same thing when TR was in court a few months back.

I do give you credit for always trying to be fair and equitable mate - even if sometimes I think you are a well meaning but misguided fool :D

In Ee Begum's case I think you are the latter. In TR's case, not so.  No surprises there then :hi:

Parliament can. When loopholes and oddities are discovered in current law they can legislate as appropriate.

If she wants to appeal, let her family pay or raise money elsewhere.

She's joined/sided with a terrorist organisation, and has justified the killing of kids in Manchester.

Some things are worth closing legal gaps for.

“The whole point of legal aid is that if you’re facing a prosecution then you’re entitled to be represented and that’s a fundamental rule of law, a fundamental point in any democratic society.”

Is she claiming legal aid because she's facing prosection?

It's not the whole point of legal aid though

Can't agree with you on this one. Distasteful as it might be - the law says she is entitled to legal aid.

Everybody should be treated the same regardless of the reason they need it. That's the whole point. It's fair, it's equitable, it's above moral judgements from people like you and me.

I was quoting Jeremy Corbyn and couldn't quite work out his justiication, as I can't see that she claiming it because of a prosecution

It's an odd thing to say as I thought it was fairly common knowledge that it's not for those facing prosecution. Asylum seekers etc can claim it or couples going through divorce. You'd think Corbyn would know better. Then again....

That's what I said- change the law.

Nothing to do with moral judgements. She's shacked up and tried to justify the actions of a terrorist organisation that's killed people in this country. It's fact.

On that basis she's had her citizenship revoked.

I'm all for folk having a fair crack of the whip, but she's lost her entitlement to it as far as I'm concerned. There are lots of folk in this country with genuine need of aid to help them do battle with a 'big boy'. Recent reductions in its availability mean it's not always available.

Genuine cases deserve a share of the small pot far more than someone who would do us harm in support of a group that would no doubt remove legal aid in its entirety.
