Sky in 1976? I thought that the Isle of Man was 20 years behind the UK not ahead.

Last year Bolton won the Champions League and Casino became PM on IOM TV.

And...having just checked...3 to be in near future Bolton players were part of the England team.

Over to you ladies and gents, puffs, dykes and transbenders.

Phil Neal, Mike Doyle and Ron The Greenwood.

I wouldn't argue with that. Still a lot of money though, and no way my lad would be going. A bloody good family holiday could be had for that.

Seems a bit of a piss take frankly.

No, she's definitely going.

To be honest, £2200 a head full board for 10 days in China, including internal flights during August school holidays is a good deal.

Based on the itinerary etc, you'd not do it much cheaper.

It's a better deal than Disneyfuckingland, which is where I'm likely to end up next Easter.

Paul Mariner? From here and worked at Bolton School?

Was actually shown on BBC.

Apologies for having a rain man memory.

Though I will contradict myself and ask weren't we losing 2-0 and won 3-2 ?

Dinosaur Zoff was only a mere pup at 73 years old in that match.

The Sky lure was for Malc. Still, you will do ????. Yes 2 down. Just searched on YouTube for the game and the tannoy bloke at the stadium is telling everyone what's going on while the match is happening. Throw in.... ????

Never played for the Wanderers mate.

5 nights camping in the Scilly Isles. 13 young boys all looked after by one man, the Sarong (in the 70's) wearing Headmaster, who now resides at Her Majesty's Pleasure for Kiddy Fiddling. His speciality was reading Dennis Wheatly horror novels to us, obvs in the hope we'd cudduw up all scared like. :help:

Only two of the 13 remained un Fiddled with, & luckily I was one of the pair.

Must be a reet minger.

R.

Googled the answer and Paul Mariner didn't plsy in the game so it was wrong on that point as well.

Steve Whitworth?

Ooh no Dave Clements

I'm not disputing any of that. Just the whole situation with schools offering such trips when clearly some parents couldn't afford it. Me being one.

It sits uneasy with me if you've got the potential for a number of kids unable to go through no fault of their own.

Don't get me wrong, a visit to China would be a good experience, but such trips just don't sit easy.

No disagreement here on that, either.

The trip appears to be worth the money, but no school trips should cost that much money.

I pity those parents with more than one kid at the same school.

Agree. In my opinion it's mental.

The problem with most school trips is that when you book for large groups you get a number of free places. Rather than divvy up the cost of the freebies to help reduce the cost, the supervising teachers use them. Now if the school see an educational benefit from this kind of trip, surely they could budget for the teacher's fares.

Are you suggesting the teachers should pay the same as the kids?

Did manage Plovdiv and Pamporovo skiing in 1988 with school.

Most other school trips were Chester Zoo, Alton Towers, etc. Oh, and I think we did Holmfirth on the day that England beat France 3-1 in Spain. Pretty sure it was the same day Algeria beat Germany, but could be wrong.

I always spent most of the trip at the front of the coach, green, spewing for my life. Never was a good traveller.

No, I'm suggesting the school budgets for the trips as part of the running costs. Bet we'd soon be back to Chatsworth House and Speedwell Caverns if the schools had to pay.
