Believe so, got asked last night for a charity football match for it or if id climb snowdon or something. to be fair, that one is for helping out community projects over there rather than a " trip" as such, it was more the destination comparison to my day, the New york one is a Jolly though, 14 years old, not a bad jaunt!

July 13, 20179 yr When I was at Canon Slade we did French exchange, I believe a couple of years back they did a Japanese exchange. Great experience for the kids but the financial pressure on parents is ridiculous.

July 13, 20179 yr We did London and I topped vicci mesbah on the way home whilst sharing ear phones listening to ash 1977 on her Walkman. She tapped me a copy that night and gave it me on Monday morning at school. Love that is.

Correct, my two nephews have had to miss out on a few school trips due to their parents not being able to afford it. The last one was a week long skiing trip somewhere over in the US. The youngest nephew though is going over to Japan for a week at some point next year for his school trip I think we went to Chester Zoo a couple of times and we also Hornsea Pottery at least twice. I recall doing Skipton Castle and Bolton Abbey one the same day once I think.

July 13, 20179 yr We did a day trip to France that was actually three hours in a hyper market near the ferry port whilst the teachers stocked up on booze.

My lad went to China when was in year 9 and he loved it, loads of attention from the locals as he had blond hair. Food wise, he ate chips for a week and lost a few pounds as a result as the meat options didn't appeal (woof woof)

That'd be great. There are a couple of sanctuaries she wants to visit as well as the obligatory safaris! Possibly Zanzibar too.

July 13, 20179 yr We had some decent school trips to Iceland, Russia, States etc but I never got to go on them due to cost. Did 3 weeks in Paris on an exchange. Great fun, bunking off school, riding the metro and coming out of school to be confronted by riot police with a water cannon. Family were Yugoslavian and mother had a habit of walking round in sheer tops with no bra and occasionally naked, opened my eyes as a 14 year old. Never met or spoke to the lad I exchanged with until my mobile rang last year and he'd found my number somewhere on the net. He now lives in the Caribbean so I reckon another exchange is due.
July 13, 20179 yr My daughter got to do a few fancy Geography trips with school, Venice, Athens and Berlin. Whilst the cost was quite high it was still cheaper than if you had arranged it yourself when you take into account all the tours etc and access to some otherwise out of bounds places. As it was genuinely educational as well as fun then it's got to be worth it. I agree the kids should try to fund as much as possible themselves though. I had a French exchange trip at school and he stank.
July 13, 20179 yr My 13 year old daughter is currently in New Zealand. Son made it to Canada but NZ is taking the piss.
July 13, 20179 yr That's a weird exchange. I did it in the third year- he came here first then I went there second. Unfortunately his mum didn't walk about almost naked.
