The fact is we’ve had better growth than everyone over the 12 months, yes, we are showing a decline but it’s hardly cataclysmic to all other G7 economies, the war is a major drag for all economies especially in Europe.

If the government decide to go with increasing taxes then you have to expect a decline in growth, getting the balance right between growth and repayment of debt is the hard job.

Not to worry though General Starmer no doubt has a plan.

I hope he does, as the current General clearly doesn't 😉

1. So we are showing a decline? So those projections could be accurate?

2. Whether Starmer has a plan or not is quite frankly irrelevant. He won't be PM next year.

We really have to get away from justifying the Tories fucking stuff up by saying Labour could/would not any do better.
Watford have just had a shit season, but they're not justifying it by saying they did better than Norwich.

I wasn’t justifying anything, my view is the hysteria being whipped up by Labour and their supporters suggest that we are performing much worse than other G7 members despite there being little or no evidence in the data.

If we get through to the next election with figures in line with other comparative nations, and with Johnson replaced then get set for another 5 years.

You're own fucking link shows the evidence in the data.

The plan is higher taxes, whether that’s right or wrong, time will tell. In terms of what has been dealt with over Johnson’s tenure I’d give him a 7 out of 10.

You aren’t worth debating with, the last 12 months prior we had higher growth than everyone. Ill leave you to crack on spouting shit as per normal.

Our growth over the last year is due to the fact we had dropped more than most others so the bounce back was greater. Anyone still giving Bozo credibility needs their head examining.

Labour's plan or Conservatives' plan?

But the last quarter?

The last quarter has to be taken in full context that prior to that quarter we were largest growth, the planned higher taxes and rises in interest rates are designed to dull growth and inflation, don’t think Euro zone have increased rates. But you know all this.

You provided the link, mate. it shows the decline has started.
As for taxes, Labour are derided when they plan to increase them.

The reduction in growth is a direct result of increasing tax take and attempt to reduce inflation and repair the balance sheet, that’s the plan.

Increasing taxes is unpopular whoever raises taxes, what you spend the taxes on is more important, Labour aren’t trusted by enough of the population to spend it wisely.

That’s a massive problem for the party and a hurdle for them to overcome, unfortunately they can’t prove fiscal responsibility when they are out of government.

There’s a lot of holes in the roads

OK, so the last time we had a Labour government, what did you think they spent unwisely.

Just interested.

Agree, the PPE was a disgrace as was the track n trace, some would argue the Furlough was to generous and the payments to fraudulent businesses was also a giant cock up. I would like to see heads roll for the PPE contract cronyism, that needs addressing for now and in the future.

They didn't divert enough of it into the back pockets of their mates and donors. Obviously.

In a response to a question raised in the House of Commons, Labour's Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell stated with regard to Murphy "He is not the economic adviser and never has been, because we doubted his judgment, unfortunately. He is a tax accountant, not an adviser. He is actually excellent on tax evasion and tax avoidance, but he leaves a lot to be desired on macroeconomic policy".[41]

So you'll easily be able to refute the calculations then, based on John McDonnell's personal opinion?
