The Government are right in withdrawing the funding, as the project will never happen, it would just be chucking money down the drain.

It’s clearly got deprived areas, it’s clear that government trying to direct money to help, you seem to be getting very upset because I’ve highlighted the government help…very strange behaviour.

I'm not upset - I just get angry when people try and dismiss this sort of thing, look at that investment. I suggest its been poorly spent and services across the board have been cut and that does get me annoyed. As do the sort of figures below.

I think that graph is in line with what I'd expect - A Conservative Government will always ensure the South prospers*. Anybody who believes such glib phrases as "Northern Powerhouse" or "Levelling Up" really does need their bumps feeling.

*To add, I'm happy with them doing this, as I live in the South 😉

Yeah - sod them lot in the desolate wastelands, serves 'em right for deep frying everything and living off pasties.

Should have got on their bikes and got better jobs in better areas. I've no sympathy with such wanton disregard for their own situations.😁

A Brexit benefit, is that the unemployed in those areas could/should be forced to re-locate to pick fruit and veg, in the South and the East, in order to pick up the slack from Johnny Foreigner no longer wanting to do it

Wasn’t dismissing anything, just pointed out the government help… then you had a hissy fit for some reason.

To be fair though, that video could have been filmed in plenty of places across the north where food bank use has rocketed.

I suppose they picked Grimsby due to the fishing and them backing Brexit and BJ to deliver for them as austerity certainly didn't.

If Rishi can do some stuff in Latin and tell a few lies, they’ll vote for him again in all probability

Just thought it was defending what is clearly indefensible - and as Winchester says, its like that across huge swathes of the country.

Anyway, no need to fall out about it, and as Sweep says, fuck it I'm already levelled up to fuck here 😉

Also seems to be more unhealthy folk up north, bigger smoking & drinking culture a bit of a generalisation but seems that way.

London is the UK's biggest manufactoring base and Essex is right up there.

And all that comes down to wealth, and wealth comes down to opportunities and education. Making poor choices because lack of education and opportunities.

The poorer areas have the lowest educational achievements, worst schools and lack of opportunities after education.

The North has been shafted for year and years and years.

Indeed, the South East pretty much propping the rest up, as usual...
