If the 'human rights lawyers' and other such marigolds are going to cost the UK taxpayer $2B per year we need to start intercepting the invaders in international waters and shipping them to an appropriate offshore processing centre before repatriation of those who are simply economic migrants or Balkan staff international transfers and an full assessment of those claiming to be escaping war and persecution. I suspect then that 90% of the problem would be solved.

Braverman will cop loads of flak. Time for her to double down and really grasp the nettle. There'll be plenty on here who hate it but the truth is that these actions by her would be greatly appreciated by the significant silent majority.

Not that I know of, but I'd assume they do a lot of training and maintenance and overseas deployments etc.

Yes and there’s a large amount that won’t be doing anything but camp duties and there’s only so much training you can do. There’s always an element ready to help out at short notice (see above examples).

To the hotels/accomodation available, like they were before Braverman took over. He didn't even mention anything about building more accomodation, so I don't know where you got that impression. What he's saying is that this current "crisis" has been deliberately manufactured by Braverman to appeal to the far Right Wing of the party. To be fair to her, it is working. They love seeing Migrants wallowing in squalor.

Again you haven’t listened and read properly. He said it’s not acceptable them building accommodation which prompted me to ask is he complaining about accom being built. 
 

Are there enough hostels and accom available? Did anyone expect the daily rate coming over to hit a 1000 a day. (these are just the channel figures). Where do all these extra staff come from to deal with the massive increase in number (army?)

He was talking about them expanding the processing facility (after he was assured this wouldn't happen), not building additonal accomodation for them to be moved into once their application has been processed...

And we know the figures are rising more than anyone expected. Building accommodation, which he thinks is wrong, is surely a sensible option. Unless you think they should be made to sleep on the floor and go without showers?

No, they should be processed as quickly as possible and moved into actual accomodation. Unless you think the processing facility should just be expanded and they should be held there indefinitely, like some sort of concentration camp? You are aware that this massive increase in Migrants is a "Brexit benefit", aren't you? What do you think the solution is?

And because of the increase in numbers a sensible alternative (temporary accommodation) has been but in place.

There is a spike at this point every year as the transitional job season ends in France.

What I can't believe we are in again (well, I can) is the country being held by Tory party in-fighting. Braverman has been appointed to keep the right-wing of the party quiet for Sunak. Truss wanted increased immigration to raise productivity (it was oddly one of the things she was right about) Braverman is going to call for targets which Sunak will have to resist as he knows he needs to get numbers up on unskilled and semi-skilled professions which will send sections of this party into fits of rage.

Again, another psychodrama battle to keep some of the deeply odd parts of a party quiet.

When people like Roger Gale is calling it out (he's hardly a Wet Tory) then folk should listen. Thanet is one of the poorest parts of the country, I wouldn't want to spend one day on that windswept plain at Manston.
