There were some figures knocking about earlier this week that showed Reform are miles ahead of other parties on social media impressions which although easier to manipulate might show like the Brexit referendum they might do better than folk expect. A cynic might ask how a party last week could not bet their own candidates is doing this without external help. (And a real cynic blame the Russians)

So by your own admission a sign in someone’s garden is unlikely going to make a neighbour vote for said party. So what’s the point of it then?

It might do that, it might not. But they spend the money to do it for some reason, so I'm guessing it has some sort of effect. 🤷‍♂️

Like you said you doubt it would make anyone vote for them. I’m not to sure what kind of effect a £10 sign or a 4p a4 poster will have.

I think we'd probably be surprised by how passive many voters are

There will be a lot of people out there intending to vote for a party but who aren't hugely politically engaged and probably do need a gentle nudge to actually get out and vote

But also, in my area there are numerous signs for the Labour Party but practically none at all for the Tories, and, to be fair, it does help create the impression that a) they've got their shit together, and b) actually give a fuck

There's no doubt some psychological term for it

A sign in someone's window or garden would never influence me how to vote, but I'm pretty sure they've been around for a long, long time.

Have you only just noticed them?

There aren't that many that I've seen- fewer than there used to be.

Some for both, and for Reform.

So few overall though, it means naff all.

There's a lot of them near me and none of them look like that, has the candidate name on but doesn't say 'vote labour' 

I'll have to make sure our cat doesn't go anywhere near their properties though
