The thing is - I imagine they WILL make some inroads into those issues. But it will be at the great expense of things like social cohesion, violent disorder and our already severely international standing.

I've tried to have this conversation with some of my mates who are planning to vite Reform - but they just can't see past the mosque on Blackburn Rd.

 Aye, so it's super cohesive now eh? FFS. Visit Golders Green.

It's not perfect - I'll give you that. But this is small fry to what I think we can expect under Reform.

I think there will be riots and social unrest all over the shop.

Let's see how it unfolds.

Yeah, but everyone claiming UC is either a lazy scrounging cunt or a filthy immigrant, who we should be jealous of for living a life of luxury while we toil in the fields, apparently.

Who has said that?

However universal credit doesn't cover mortgage payments.

So like I said. It's easier to rent and claim than it is to graft and own your own house.

Easier.

So you'd rather have these lazy bastards living on the streets, robbing folk and shop lifting to survive?

I've got some sympathy though mate - and it is a useful safety net for a lot of people who otherwise would go under.

I've got a friend down in Kent for example. Single mum whose fella left her and her son. She's a really hard worker, a counsellor and also picks up whatever work she can working as a receptionist at a golf club.

The way house prices are down there - she'd be destitute if it wasn't for UC. And she still has to deal with the 'if you can't afford kids then you shouldn't have them' brigade.

I get that there are some people taking the piss. But that always happens to some extent whenever you offer a state benefit. But it also does a lot of good. It's a difficult balance to get right I suppose.

You're totally missing my point.

I'm not saying their aren't swathes of folk deserving of benefits or UC.

But if you've got a mortgage and something happens to lead you down that path, you're in a better position if you're renting.

That's all I was saying.

It's an easier way of life to claim what you can and claim housing benefit than graft your balls off to pay a mortgage and get taxed to death on everything you earn or save.

You're right, I am missing your point. Are you mad because you work hard to have a good life, but some people don't work hard so have a shit life?

You have missed the point as well.

He's talking about a large swathe of people who have their rent paid, get given free money just for being boneidle slobs and having a few kids.

To them , their lives are cushy as fuck. No job to worry about, just give their kids the bare minimum then pop to the eyebrow shop and the tattoo parlour whilst they;'re at school, then take them to the local flat roofed pub and get shedded.

These people exist and we all know it.

All we ask as knackered taxpayers, is that our money goes to people who genuinely need it rather than scummy cunts just playing the system.

So what should happen to these people and their kids?

Reduce their money.

Make them fucking earn it.

Instead of idling away the hours in the eyebrow shop I’d have them picking litter, making the local community a tidier, cleaner place. Restore some civic pride.

Im sure there are other jobs the idle could do to earn their keep.

its not a lot to ask.

The people you described would refuse to do it. What then?

No money.

Same as I'd get if i refused to work.

The welfare bill is out of control, it exceeds our GDP ffs. The cost to assess all cases individually would be worth it for the savings it would inevitably bring.

There's simply no balance.

Our GDP is over 3 Trillion Pounds...

They just carry on claiming benefits

Which is also true.

I've another friend who has just gone back into employment after being laid off. But he's only looking for 2 days a week because any more than that and he'll have his UC taken off him.

Needs to keep his earnings under £1000 a month. He could do the other 3 days but financially he'd only be in a slightly better position.  So much as I think he's taking the piss - I can understand why he might make that decision from a pragmatic perspective.

It's something that needs addressing somehow - but it's not an easy fix.

My mistake, I meant the tax take.

Either way, it’s too high and still climbing.

Wouldn’t give them any.

Pay their rent. The rest they can work for

I'm sure their shoeless. malnourished kids will make great future members of society.

There's nothing pragmatic about it

You either want to pay your own way or you don't

Seems it's made too easy for those that don't

They’re already malnourished because mum gives them chicken dippers so she can have another tattoo.

Or like a lot of kids from poor backgrounds, they might do ok for themselves.

i say again - many cases are genuine and it’s absolutely right to give benefits. But there are people taking the piss and I’d give them fuck all.

Have you reported them?

Think its income tax take..which neglects VAT + other taxes which is nearly 50% more than income tax.

Maybe let them work cash in hand and not pay tax to help them get by, and hope nobody reports them
