Who would you bring in though?

At least we know Broad is more than capable of producing on his day

Mark Wood (when fit).

Doomed

Doomed

Very much so I’m afraid

Well, rain on the way.

In Perth, in summer?!

I've officially retired from watching international cricket this winter.

Thank God we've got the footie!

It's been quiet on here today. Another 4am start today then work all day. I'm not sure if I should look at the football section. Too much negativity is bad for you. I blame Brexit.

As my wife said (whilst at the match), at least we aren't there.............

My lad's over there and doing all five. I'll be there in Melbourne and Sydney. Whatever the result, it's got to be better than these early mornings and then work. I'm knackered! (I know your wife was, probably, being ironic)

So we need to bat 5 sessions

Not happening

136 overs to go

136 overs to go

Well, not really.

Bat 115 at 3 an over, might be enough

The first rain was a two minute shower five minutes before tea was due.

It resulted in an early tea and no loss of time, but might be a harbinger for later.

(Or was that it?)

All over bar the shouting.

That starc delivery is one of the best deliveries ive ever seen.

Basically a 90mph leg spinner

Pissed down early this morning - so much so that the scooter club cancelled today's run. Fined up (of course!) now it's blowing a fucking gale and pissing down again.

Supposed to piss down all day tomorrow.

Weather our only hope of keeping the series alive (for now).

Its a sorry state when we are relying on rain in the middle of the perth summer haha

I know - it's as rare as fucking hens teeth but it has arrived!

Has it cooled the place down a bit though?

Anyway, vaughan saying its the seniors that are letting us down. As for someone to replace broad, sooner or later someone will have to, so blood one or two whilst it seems that the series has gone. Takes a bit of pressure off.

Call me naive, but I'm still hoping for a result from this test.

These 2 are our last hope, but they did well in the first innings.

And, a couple of hours rain............

4 hours rain required. Would still need to see out 40 overs

I'm not up at 1.45, let's put it that way.

I'll tune in around 4 and see if it's worthwhile bothering. Probably all over with by then.

Anything is possible, especially in an Ashes series. Previous Tests have shown that. It's easy to write them off now but with a little help from the weather we can still save this match.

Well, I have been at work for over an hour and it's been savage. Blowing an absolute gale and rain squalls. People were pulling off the road and waiting for the squalls to pass (wankers who would never survive up there - they slow down to 30kph for the slightest shower down here).

Hopeful but it's 9:45 now and the sun is starting to break through. Could go either way but lets hope it pisses down cos I have a hunch that we will win in Sydney and the Ashes could then be decided at the MCG in the fourth test.

10am now and it's absolutely thrutching down.

These high winds are just bringing wave after wave of it with the odd break in the clouds which momentarily raises Aussie spirits.

Hope this goes on all day! They are predicting it should clear up around 2pm.

Great news so far

Looks like 60 overs

Unlikely, but more showers around.......
