Wanderers 2-1 Sheffield Wednesday

So the 1st of two home games which I think will tell us where this season is going

Hopefully build on from villa and put a performance in like we did against them in the cup

They have 100 tickets left out of 4800 so will be noisy as fuck no doubt

1-1

  • If we avoid defeat does it mean that Sweaty Ken will stop his weekly ramblings about us all sticking together and PP having a job for life?   The monthly blog last season was understandable to keep

probably our best performance was 442 against Sheffield think you was on holiday

nay lad

just couldnt be arsed going :)

I wouldn't start Vela with Henry and Ameobi both still searching for a bit of fitness. I would also play ALF up top on his own, I don't rate Madine at all.

Howard

Little Wheater Beevers Taylor

Ameobi Henry Karacan Pratley

Noone

ALF

I would give that a go nothing loose imo

Switch one of Ameobi/Noone/ALF for Wilbraham and play the remaining two off the big fella, then they drop back into midfield when lose possession.

Vela for Karacan if fit

Has to be

Alnwick (if fit)

Little Beevers Wheater Taylor

Pratley Henry Karachan

Vela Ameobi

Madine

If velas not fit morais or Buckley - noone is the new Chris Taylor

        Howard

Little, Wheater, Beevers, Taylor,

       Henry, Karacan,

Ameobi, Vela, Noone or Armstrong

        Madine

If Vela isn't fit, Pratley will have to play.

As much as I want PP to stay if we lose these 2 at home he is toast.

Wow, you were quite strong in your views of us doubting him not so long back. Not having a pop- its all about opinions, but for you to suggest this is quite something.

If we lost the next two, would you back his removal or still want him to stay?

Fwiw, I'd love him to turn it round, but its not happening, and a change may be essential.

I remember the boxing day defeat under Freedman when we lost 1-0

awful weather, awful football, awful game, just awful

even now, I'd be surprised if tomorrow was worse

I'm surprised people are still opting for beevers

Massive disappointment this season gets his positioning wrong in so many games

To be honest, as we can see from various formations, not sure what a difference changing various players would make. Confidence is low, and the underlying tactics are poor.

yeah fair comment, always had reservations on wheater at this level but beevers has surprised me

A bit of a problem throughout is there's not much pace. With teams waltzing through our midfield, a quick central defender would help.

A more settled formation might help him too, but parky is obviously searching around.

There are many different types of supporter and none is any better or worse than the other :-

Social supporter who goes for a few drinks and a day out when circumstances allow (I include myself in this bracket).

The fanatic, who has little else going on in his life and football is absolutely everything (Ruth and Casino types).

The ST holder who hasn't missed a home game for years, its a habit for him, but he never goes to away games.

The casual fan, who chooses his games, home or away, be that financial or family reasons (many examples).

We are all different for whatever reason, but we are all Bolton supporters.

Quite agree.

Despite having a season ticket, I'm genuinely struggling to get the enthusiasm to go. Having a bit of a downer as it is (time of year) and I just get even more wound up watching it!

Think thats why I get wound up as it's hard to keep an 8year old interested when we lose every week especially around here where in his school there's about 3 bolton fans rest mancs

Don't worry. If Josh is back that will kickstart the season

I’m much more confident about tomorrow with a fully fit squad with vela and ameobi back.

0-2 Wednesday.

I'd still want him to stay don't want him sacked but I understand that his position will be virtually untenable should we lose both.

Following an unsuccessful team up and down the country is not the only thing Barnet Steve and Casino have in common, they both have Dougie in their all time favourites hee hee

your midfield looks as strong as the ones where we concede 3 every week, so for that reason, iamoot

dunno if vela can do an hour so assuming he can my front 6 are

morais henry pratley ameobi

vela

madine

Dont always agree with you Cas but thats what I would go with

Not exactly worked a treat having the big donkey up there

Biggish you have been brain washed with ding dong; he hates our best player  :shifty:

Gary will get us out of this with someone at the side of him who can score goals
