Non Alcoholic Lager

Tried a few recently.

Have to say, there’s some really good quality ones about. To my utter disbelief the Budweiser Probibition is excellent (caveat - needs to be ice cold).

The San Miguel, Brew dog and Heineken are also very good. Becks blue is shite.

And you can drive home. Could get used to it.

What the fuck has happened to this place

  • But made from what? If you make it from proper lager or bitter all you're doing is sweetening and halving the alcohol content per pint. Drink enough and you'll still be over the limit.

Going back to the original topic, I had a bitter shandy t'other day made with Asda's own utter catpiss bitter (90p for four tins, 2%) - made 50/50 with both the catpiss and the lemonade being ice cold

thing is , they are a brewer ,and have always brewed different beers ales , lagers.

which brand was the first lager introduced into the uk ?

Harp lager ,which was brewed by Guinness.

so no they have not jumped on the band wagon.

And hop house is in the "world beer" category, along with peroni ,san miguel and a host of others.

craft ale is supposed to be small batch brewed .

size is scale and quality, due to buying power and investment in technology .

one man with a dolly tub and a shit loads of hops it is not.

good night.

Peroni is pisciare di gatto...

Italians drink German and danish ale.

I read an article on how Peroni was as a brand was acquired purposefully, cherrypicked, with the express intent of 'grooming' it to be the next 'reassuringly expensive' premium lager, after Stella Artois had been devalued and linked forever with yobbos (wifebeater).

In short, anyone who drinks it, you've been had, done up like a kipper.

It should've stayed where it belonged, in pissy little bottles gathering dust in Italian restaurant fridges, until a customer fancies a beer, who then, after taking a sip, immediately denounces it as shite and a waste of money...

San Miguel is about 40p a can in Spain, and still largely shunned in favour of Estrella Galicia, Damm, Mahou, Cruzcampo etc.

I believe Pabst is a bit hipster over here but is the red necks beer of choice in the states and generally sneered at

There's probably a country in the world where carling is cool

Australia probably, after all their national drink is Fosters.

PBR was the yank punks beer of choice in the 90s.

Surely they should drink 'malt liquor'? The yanks version of super strength?

I'm going to put it out there...
