Fuck me, that's my most hated cover version of all time. When you compare it to the pounding, breathless original that i was dancing to as a kid it just pales into insignificance. The Soft Cell cover wa

You just can't cover some songs and that is one of them, but saying that, it can be done, just like the Ravonettes cover below.

One of the best covers for me was Bobby Womacks 'California Dreaming' .....just fucking brilliant.

Bobby Womack!

anyway

All Along The Watchtower is the greatest cover

Brilliant

Don’t no who wrote  it but Nina Simone’s version of lilac wine is the best and that includes Jeff Buckley’s

Going to reverse this and show an original that wasn’t as successful as the cover. The Love Affair version was a sixties classic. This is the original version by Robert Knight.

Radiohead have been mentioned a few times recently. This is one of my favourite covers.

Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah

Daughter has just showed me a YouTube video of two young kids covering Creep (Radiohead) on Germany’s version of The Voice (Kids)

I like Radiohead’s version a bit but I reckon this is better.

Never heard that before, it's better than the cover 😀

👍 I agree but the Love Affair version reminds me of my first away match. Heard it on the radio while loading the newspapers into my bag at the paper shop at 7am on a Saturday morning for my paper round before heading off to Huddersfield. 1968.

Felicity by Orange Juice and The Wedding Present. Wish I was able to post up links to compare but am struggling atm.

Good effort tbf.

Never heard this one as well, but it actually sounds pretty good, the trick is you gotta make it your own and they do 👍

They did the same with Nobody Does It Better.

He's just got one of them voices that works on a cover and can easily make it belong to Radiohead, fair play, he does it really well, great song by Carly Simon in the first instance though.

Apologies for bombarding the topic with Radiohead videos, but they're the best band in the world in my opinion. This is how to cover a Smiths song.

right, joking aside

Best cover ever

Natalie imbruglia, torn

Johnny Cash's cover of 'Hurt' was a great sign off.
