Fuck me, that's my most hated cover version of all time. When you compare it to the pounding, breathless original that i was dancing to as a kid it just pales into insignificance. The Soft Cell cover wa

A court in the US ruled in 1976 that he stole it from The Chiffons, their song She's So Fine. A week after the court case George wrote This Song in response to the ruling. Billy Preston played ke

Maybe The Chiffons should have sued themselves, because their follow up single to "He's so fine" was "One fine day" which sounds very similar - even though 2 different people wrote the songs.

George Harrisons "My Sweet Lord" pisses all over both Chiffons songs imo.

Loved hearing that original Step On during The Serpent - sounded ace and was well placed.

As for My Sweet Lord - I heard a John Lennon song the other day and it also sounded very similar to My Sweet Lord which made me wonder if GH had originally planned it as a Beatles song and then Lennon had robbed it? Anyone else heard of such?

I liked this cover of George Harrisons song from 71.

Johnathan King did a very funny piss take of this saga in the late 70s, can't remember the name of it but one of the lyricss was "See you in court"

Willie Dixon’s Evil (is going on ) covered by Clutch is fuckin brutal and the solo is amazing .

King was a filthy pedo who racked up a load of hits under different pseudonyms in the 70s.

That I do know, but it's a rare musical example of somebody parodying plaigerism in music.

I believe Led Zeppelin had a run in with Willie Dixon as their Lemon Song was based on his song Killing Floor.

On initial pressings of Led Zeppelin II the song is credited to Jimmy Page/Robert Plant, but later pressings credit the song to Willie Dixon.

No mention of Robert Johnson though as the 'Squeeze my lemon' lyric was borrowed from his song Travelling Riverside Blues.

Also Memphis Minnie was co-credited with the band on their song When The Levee Breaks from Led Zeppelin IV.

I went the WOMAD festival in Morecambe in 95 and Mike Scott was the main headliner, he never sang this.

He was fucking bobbins, all his solo songs after splitting with the rest of Waterboys at that gig went down like a dose of pox.

Love that song.

Probably the mother of all cover versions, ladies, gents and all those in-between, I present to you 'The Godfather Of Air Guitar', the late great Joe Cocker...
